Before I get too attached to my hair.

http://www.justgiving.com/SeanBelton

Shooting for a grand. Might have set the bar a little low, but you don't have to stop giving once we get there!

I've ditched the smokes, which feels like it's killing me but of course the theory is it's doing the opposite. And I'm shaving off my giant haircut (pics to come) in honour of those I know/have known/visit occasionally at the cemetery who went through the horrifying experience that is chemotherapy.

Updates to come.

Thanks for your time and generosity Blonde. Smiley

Thank you Daniel for your generous contribution!

Where are the rest of you?! I know you all have a little you can flick in for a great cause, and anyone that I've ever played poker with will have a ton of cash lying around somewhere!

48 hours and I've generated £20. Granted that's more than I make in 48 hours of poker, but it's still rubbish.

Where's the love?

Start posting on a daily basis about your smoking, or lack of it, and how difficult/easy it is.

Do the sell!

Where's the love?

Where's the effort?

You know people have to work to make the money that you want them to send your way?

Can't see any reason to love this whatsoever.

You might get a few people who know you to donate on the basis of this thread but if you're after randoms you need to put more in to it.

I know it's a good cause but so are all the others. As Dan says, do the sell.

Could do a daily video blog - 20 seconds or so talking about how tough it is to give up smoking, or shit like that?

So far you've got two people who've sponsored you - and both know you relatively well (more than most on here).

So basically my blood is itchy, I'm very irritable, and the cravings haven't gone away or barely eased up. But a couple of things I have noticed: first of all I can do cardio exercise without a choking sensation as my heartrate increases, but I can't lift nearly as much as I feel I'm supposed to. I feel like I have harboured enough frustration to crack the ground if I hit it, but in reality I can't even bench what I was benching a few weeks back (which is a massive frustration where it didn't used to be.)

Fortunately I have the gift of foresight, so I know when these cravings finally clear off I will be a happier, healthier human being and the knowledge that I'm incorporating it into something I'm doing for a very worthy cause is just about the only reason I haven't reached for the smokes again. November has been very trying. Let's see if I can see it out to 2013 without hurting myself!

It's been about six weeks since I've had a cigarette, but even as a smoker I could quite happily go for about a week without one so it's hard to gauge exactly how long I can officially consider myself a non-smoker. I'll call it a month, but here's the kicker. For the first month you expect the cravings, you expect the irritability, so you put a lot of emotional stock into keeping your mood stable (yes, that bit on my diary about anger-wanking should be considered stability compared to what I felt like doing without huge amounts of personal restraint.) After the first month - speaking for myself of course, not everybody - I've found the restraint and stability to be wearing thin, running out. I know some people that quit smoking and were fine after two weeks, but I've observed forum discussions where people say they still feel the cravings months later. I'm buckled up for a bumpy ride!

Everyday I'm rattling.
