I post more on APAT than here, although I've
contributed
posted more on blonde this year than any other year, I wouldn't consider myself as a regualr blonde against most in here. so I would understand to a degree if I was exempt.
That said, surely getting Newbies / new posters to represent blonde is a method of keeping the forum fresh, live and ensuring a good turnover of new people.
I have represented APAT Team Luton in the previous team event as captain for the record.
Adam said you had to have registered before June. Newbies are not welcome.
I said registered 6 months ago OR posted >100 times. That was Tighty's suggestion to me.

Don't u get paid to do the updates?
Nirvana for captain. Much better choice. Plus if he wins I will personally return his 24 boxset as a prize.
I do get paid to do the updates. I believe everybody does. It's not good money for what it is, after expenses works out at less than minimum wage hourly. When Joobs and I do it together, it is a set amount, so we don't get double money.
I don't do it for the money
, that is a bonus. I do it to help Blonde and by extension, Tighty out.
I'd also like to state that I am not applying for any other teams (I am aware that people do this because it is not an open event). I post on Blonde and APAT. I want to play for Blonde. I've never applied in the past because I've never felt I can qualify via the MTT's.
EH?

Which is why I'd have a selection criteria based on application. Don't think u should step aside for anyone waz as long as you feel like you want represent blonde and not just want to play the comp
I do want to play in the tournament. I'd prefer under the badge of APAT, not shying away from that, being totally honest. So I guess its like, I'm born in one country, but if I can't make that team, then I play the grandad card!
But my point is/was its way to further intergrate with blonde and get to know others better and repping the forum. I agree other more worthy than me, but If I don't ask and put myself forward, then I'm not showing my worth in the first place or a willingness to earn the stripes

You're not intergrating if you're playing with people who don't really post on the forum

Blonde will obviously be there.
I just don't agree with non active members wanting to represent blonde when they don't contribute all year long.
TBF George, the team has often contained new and less active members because they are the ones who made themselves available,
and
entered the qualifying mtts.
I can see both sides of this argument. I was very new to Blonde in 2010 when I entered the qualifier to represent the forum in Manchester and to be honest if I had not gone to that event and met some of Blondes long standing members I doubt I would have bothered posting too much more at all or even played another APAT, for this reason every day two I make I wear the Blonde patch (so that I will have it on at final tables). I know I am not that big of a poster (only about 100 posts this year) but I read the forum and get a lot of the PHA section especially.
On the other hand I do have to agree that last year (and the year before) the team did not seem like a Blonde Poker team fully. The team included people who wanted to play the event more than wanted to play for Blonde (imo), who whilst they are great people and great apaters were not obvious choices for the Blonde team, we had to go with what we had though. Over the last couple of years only a few of the Blonde team have stayed to rail their team mates after they went out. The result of this is that the forum itself is indifferent as well. I honestly think we could have been playing to win it last year at the final table and there would barely have been a post on Blonde Poker about it. If we this year have a team made up of regular posters and well known Blondes I would expect to see the support from the forum become much more vocal and a decent thread to be made out of it.
I like the idea of selecting a captain in the same way APAT do and allowing them to choose the team. Last year the APAT team did have what Blonde Poker did not which was a proper team spirit, their members got behind each other properly and cared how their team did and railed one of their team to second place. I think that going about things in this way will ensure that Blonde gets that right this year. Hope to be playing but if not will be starting a thread on this forum as support for Blonde team.
No disrespect meant to any of the posters in this thread at all but I don't personally think we should be including people for whom Blonde is not their only choice either (not up to me of course but just an opinion). We have a really strong group of players in the OP of this thread and the team should be selected from them by whatever criteria the captain and Tighty deem correct. Just to answer a question above, I have also represented another forum once in this competition (I have represented Blonde twice). This was only due to me being offered the chance to be captain of the APAT forum team back when that was a massive honor and not something you turned down. Blonde though is the only team I have ever applied to play for though.
Oh yeah and Tighty should definitely be playing captain if he is available. Never thought of him tbh, so used to him making sure everything runs right you forget the man can actually play.

I would like to captain the team. Sorry my post to nirvana was tongue in cheek. He'd be asking for a chop from the outset (and he's not getting his 24 box set back)
ty that's clear
my 2 cents would be happy with any of the 3 suggested captains ( Nirvana don't know if you were serious or not i am assuming not )
do not have an opinion if team selection is by captain or by league
if by captain selection criteria should be decided by them
if by league would want buy in higher than that suggested

It has already been said that the captain would select the team. I am pretty sure this is the best way to go.
