FWIW I get a strong impression that the teams who have done the best in previous years have been the ones who have had captain's appoint their members rather than teams where players 'earned' their place - another good reason to dispense with an MTT or league qualifier.
Being captain is a massive hassle, in my experience the only benefit you get is the satisfaction of seeing someone you picked win the individual element of the tournament
What about being captain of a winning team at a team event? That is pretty satisfying. The captain will have a tough job on his hand no doubt about it but if Blonde can win the event it will be well worth it. |

I haven't been active enough to put my name down for this, but I was really honored & thrilled to play for Blonde in this last year. From playing I became more involved with proper live games I could afford with APAT and from then on to my first trip to Las Vegas and making some remarkable Blonde friends. I've always considered myself a Blonde more than anything else so I wish the best of luck to those who are chosen to play, I'm sure they will do a great job representing Blonde  |

there is no need to put your name down now, because the selection will be done by whomever is chosen as captain from applications from willing members. It is the captain's job to decide on the criteria
imo all three (4) possible candidates are worthy captains for different reasons, and I am sure will do blonde proud.

The mods have given me their views in the last 24 hours and the winner of the vote for the captain is
George2loose
I'm assuming blonde will have a team, though we'll know for sure at the end of the week
George will be on the thread later to sort organising and selecting his team

only pick from those who expressed an initial interest IMO. Having team eureka and Tom Langley in would not be in the spirit of the thing. |
