This. Won a decent amount at live cash, not completely sure online but pretty sure I'm close to b/e and up chunks in tournaments under 109s, done my brains in mil/ftops over the year, pretty gay.

Profitable year for me on the live tournament circuit but also very frustrating.

No one likes bad beat stories so I'll just say that a different river card in 4 critical pots very deep in 4 different events would ensured a much much more profitable year.

Only good to come from them is that I take the normal bad beats in my stride now.

Still love the game and still addicted to it so optimistice for 2013.

well 2012 was a strange year for me

online won plenty seats for large touniments at dtd
lost lots of money online while playing sat for dtd

had a slow start with live tounies cashing in about 4 supeer £50 tounies early in the year

had couple of cashers in the  £100 at dtd

then in oct had a good run for few week whitch my my best to date coming 3rd in £500 deepstack for £9100 with some realy good and bad poker from me..<<3 handed me on button  with  i make a big raise  pete wiggesworth in sb with    goes all in anbig blind also gets  and goes all in i fold I NEVEER NORMALLY FOLD HEAR i had a poker fairy in my ear telling me at best its going to chop  i was right

followed by 2 big cashers in the £150 deepstack  around £18k in oct

roulete i played 4 times in 2012 and up 5k so thats good but i keep away from roulete as much as poss

staking other people  i staked £500 and had a great return of £5.5k ((THANKS TO HE KNOWS WHO))

also with my 10% buddy we are about eaqul giving each other around £3k

i played and traveled alot more this year including the ukipt bristol where i played my worst ever.

and last but not least was the ccp packages for dtd where i realy wanted to go was going to buy a package but my better half said to play sats to try get one half price well this dident work i did over £2.5 k in this and bubbled it 4 times playing live and online
MORAL OF THIS IS  I WILL NOT BE CHASSING IT LIKE THAT AGAIN

OVERALL 2012  was a good year for me i have learnt some more do s and donts of poker and will be coming back even stronger after new year no more poker for me untill next year

Hey JCBG I was just wondering do you possibly do any coaching, I'm really interested in improving and I've been following this for quite a while and I think you are so impressive!
Maybe you could possibly let me know what your rates would be?
I could travel also and could pay you upfront for a few sessions??
Thanks :-)

Lessons from 2012.
1) Live cash is a lot to do with a) table selection.
                                                       b) position.
                                                       c) starting hands.
                                                        d) avoiding Mitch.
2) Live comps are all about. a) being patient
                                                    b) balanced aggression.
                                                    c) treading on necks.
                                                    d) position
                                                     e) getting lucky and winning any races.

4) it's important when playing live not to let your ego make decisions( keep the chimp in the cage a term borrowed from the GB cycling team very relevant).

5) You never win if you are tired, stressed, distracted or tilted. You need to find a kind of zen like heightened concentration/awareness of what is really happening around you.

6) The emotional states of the players and their stack sizes seem far more important in live comps than I previously realised.

7) your toughest opponent is usually yourself.

So,there are my lessons from the past year.Hope you have a brilliant 2013. It's not all about the maths.

My 2012 was pretty good, firstly joined Blonde. I haven't posted all that much but am an avid reader.

I managed to win a Vegas package on skypoker which meant I thought I should get a live game in before I went to Vegas having only played online before. I played a deepstack at DtD and it was a very useful and enjoyable experience albeit I didn't make day 2. I had read about Rastafish on blonde (and to be honest didn't really understand what everyone was going on about) but being on an adjacent table meant I really understood what the fish was about. Guy is a legend!

Vegas was an amazing experience. Made day 2 in the main but the experience it gave me made me know I can do a lot better than that. I managed to chop a couple of smaller tournaments at the rio and get a couple of other cashes so won a bit which I was pleased about given my lack of live experience. A great thing for me was meeting a load of great people who I keep in touch with and will hopefully see more of in 2013 when I play more live poker. I need some more of these flag things everyone talks of!!!!

Online I had another profitable year however still no 5 figure score which I want to rectify in 2013.

Best of luck to all in 2013

1 - My concentration levels online have been utter garbage
2 - There is money to be made at micro Omaha cash
3 - I need to play more live, just playing our home game STT every week is NOT going to help me rediscover my MTT form!!

Made £27.5k by the end of March.
Lost £25k of it by a couple of weeks ago.
Bought two books to improve my game.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mental-Game-Poker-Jared-Tendler/dp/0615436137/
and
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/1904468942/
Won £17.5k in 3 days.
.
.
.
.
Then started reading the books.

+£2k to +£45k in a month

Really enjoyed playing this year, getting better as I work harder at the game
Live cash, played a lot more and a few £k up
Live tourneys, played lots local and with decent scores, 10k up by end
Not played on line as much, only really sat into bigger events, so showing small loss
Not managed a single cash in a tourney at DTD, lots of huge stacks ending with some disasters!
Managed a min cash in St Kitts, but should have been so much more!  Played like a girl when on the bubble
Even on a 10% split with my mate!

Aims for 2013
Cash at DTD!
Play monthly at the £300 or £500 event
Work harder at my game!
Learn to hold on to a big stack once built it!
Double profit for 2013 and get a decent large score
