A contender for most bizarre managerial decisions ever, on a day that they beat Leads to take them on the fringe of the playoffs.

They want someone with Premiership experience, apparently.

Weird!

Must already have a man ready.

Keane or Di Matteo seems likely.

they WILL live to regret it

already seen 5 tweets from forest players (2 of which he didnt even pick regularly) saying he was a pleasure to work for learned the most they ever had e.t.c

i am still convinced they would have gone down last season, almost as soon as he came in as a coach he turned them around

unfourtantley he has next to no interest in being best mates with everybody in the media and is this day and age that side is only getting bigger

i am not sure he will get another chance now, he should at least in the championship if not higher but he should have got another chance earlier after donny and only got into forest through his coaching there

Yeah there's loads of terrible premiership managers. He certainly polished turds at Donny.
Billy sharpe is quality and they should get him signed up ASAP.

WTF, very strange.  Can't understand for a minute why anybody would hire Keane again.

Curbishley?

He's one of the two managers I'd accept when the inevitable parting of ways with Keith Hill occurs (too many fans now switched to the 'Hill out' camp for him to survive, IMO).  If we get him or Owen Coyle then I don't think relegation would be a nailed on certainty.

Don't see Curbs managing again anywhere. Been out a very long time in footballing terms.

I would think so aswell, just putting names out there.  I agree with you they must have someone lined up already to do this.

Keane is an old boy but it's not like there was any rush to snatch him up, in case someone else got him first.

The sooner he can prove how football should be played the better. I went into mourning when he left rovers. Fantastic ideology. If Keane comes in they've got no shot at promotion no matter who they bring in

Dear o dear.....this is just crazy, or at least I thought it was 2 hrs ago.  Let me try to explain.

Performances this season have been mediocre at best for a large part of the season, I am gutted that they have got rid of Sean as he has certainly improved us this season what with the upheaval over the last 9 months or so.

Ultimately, he has been setting our team up to not lose on many occasions and some of the performances, namely Watford last week, Hull before that, were awful.  On paper, we have got a very strong squad, particularly in the attacking 3rd, but 1 or 2 donkeys at the back which make us look vulnerable to pace.

Seems like the owners are either very ambitious and have cash to spend or are very daft and will appoint either Keane or Hughes.

I pray that it is neither of these and they will splash out on say Roberto Di Matteo.  The reality is, is that Roy Keane was at the ground today and we are doomed.

Please, one time, not Keane or Hughes.

Oh, and if this sacking had happened last week after Watford, or after 30 mins of todays shite, it would be totally justified.

Timing is very strange.

Of the top 5 in betting: (although only SkyBet so doesnt mean a lot)

Roy Keane - surely not, been out of management a while and wasnt any good when he managed b4 anyway

Mark Hughes - possibly. Kind of a big name tho, but never been a big fan of his

Di Matteo - makes quite a lot of sense. Done it b4 with WBA, owner got plenty of £. Big name and would be huge coo for them to get last seasons CL winning manager in. Plus this was done so hastily points towards Roberto as they didnt wna miss out on him

Warnock - yeah, your not having him. sorry.

Paul Jewell - just LOL, surely not.

Guess it could be Coyle, Curbs, but doubt they offer the style of football the owners want to see.

The idea of replacing O'Driscoll with Keane is laughable.

I hope for Forest fans sake its not Keane.

O'Driscoll will make a quality coach/asst manager for someone. Excellent coach.
