£1/£2 Live NLH
«

This is my first post on here and I don't know if this is the sort of thing to post or not, it just put me in an awkward position and i wanted to know if i'd made the right decision.
I've been playing on the table for about 2 and a half hours and straddling to £4 is the norm, so I've put the straddle on. I have about 75BB and am quite short in comparison to stacks at the table.
So the hand.
I get dealt
.
+1 shoves for £21
3 players behind flat.
(1 of the callers is and absolute rock, another will call for ''value'' most hands and the other i'd never played with but seemed to be playing very well.)
It comes to the BB (plays a lot of hands, very aggro) and he makes it £55
The question i'm asking is what should i do with a £150 behind to a raise like that and players behind?
(sorry if it's hard to follow, like i said the first time i've posted on blonde)

Given you are fairly shallow and have JJ I would stick it in

Welcome to blonde,
Pretty grim but £150 and soooooooooooo much dead money I put it in also. Not too happy about it mind you

I wouldn't normally try so hard, but didn't have another opportunity I could wait for. I wasn't ready to surrender what I WANTED SO MUCH, that easily, I couldn't guarantee a call with me staying stoic and relying on a flinch "top pair" calling reflex.

Its a get in.
In future be careful not to just pen people as aggressive, but look at where they are aggressive. For example, I got in 200bb in on the turn, vs the worlds biggest nit, because I open a lot preflop. Is he 3betting pre? Is he check/raising flops? Is he opening and bet/bet/jamming?
Here we can't fold, he reps a big hand pretty hard with his size, but it could easily be something a little bit silly and the price is fantastic.

DO NOT straddle with your stack mate. Especially on a table with £21 stacks floating around. Just because its the norm doesnt mean you should, even though its v hard to say no
.
As for the hand, normally, ie deeper, Im just gonna fold and be pretty happy about it. However, we have £150 and theres about that in dead money in the pot. We wont get many better chances with a good hand.
Well detailed first post btw

If my maths serves me right with the £4 straddle you have effective 37.5bb.
I think this spot is much closer than the above comments would suggest, but I think you have to go with it. Occasionally one of the 3 flat callers is will be trapping a bigger pair but I don't think its super likely. I am not happy at all when the big blind makes such a small 3bet. I mean its not a raise where you would expect many people to fold to. But assuming the 3 flat callers fold to your shove most of the time you only need around 33-35% equity vs the BB with JJ because of all the dead money, assuming he stacks off 100% of the time. Some of the time he will be full of it and fold.
Close, but go with it.

The only reason for hesitation is this is close to my size with AA/KK in the bbs spot. However, hes probably not thinking like that. I've certainly seen people pile AA there for like £600 even when the rest of the table is deep. Another reason i want to say fold is with this sizing and the op posting he has to have had AA right?

if i have over £225 id fold.
as it was i'd go all in, although if you wanted to fold that would be absolutley fine, its a close spot so not too much margin to make a big mistake, sort of spot where i'd shrug and ship it as a defailt but id see if i could pick up a ninja live read that would make me fold.
Nothing wrong with straddling either JK just a nit!

Effective stack is shallower with the straddle. If I'm sat with 37.5bbs with JJ, I'm shipping it on a flip and hoping to come out a winner.
