I basically get into cycling once a year (twice if there's an Olympics), but have had broadly followed the last Vuelta and Giro. Definitely a sport I can get into as an armchair fan. Can't be doing with anything below the elite stuff, though. Can't ride a bike either...!
Just need to get the number of hours in a day extended by 20% and I can get database building!

Right ho. Thank you very much. That broadly accords with what he was saying. The point with Edmundsen is that Sky needs a British leader for brand purposes and Froome will be top dog for four or so years, so it is perfect for getting a young rider blooded behind him. Peter Kennaugh (24) is ahead of Josh. He rode great in last years TdF & looks to have what it takes, although will need to start winning the likes of Tour of Poland to get his chances as GC contender. Sounds like I need to find out who he means - he mentioned a LOT of names! - he definitely mentioned him as well. Genuinely would have brought a pen and paper if I realised he was going to be talking about wattages and Chris Frome's superior cadences... I'll have to give him some chess banter to reciprocate. Pro Cycling, an analogy often is quoted is it's like chess on wheels Lol EVERYTHING is like chess. Nadal v Djokovic walloping it from the baseline is like a chess match McGrath teasing outside off stump v Tendulkar is a chess match Phil Taylor thinks two levels ahead of Paul Nicholson and he's taking him on in a chess match. Marco Antonio Barrera dancing round the ring with Marquez is a chess match. A tactical frame of pool in my local league is like a chess match. Cycling? Why not!

Looks like a group of 10-12 have made a gap to the peloton, Stannard is in there, Vanmarke has been drilling it.

11 rider chase group at including Boonen, Terpstra and Stybar. OPQS strong position, but BMC also looking stronger than usual.

Only one hill to come: the Molenberg. Then it's 37 km to the finish & pave sections. 30 riders still with a chance.
