Having some soup today with the wife and i offer here some crackers.
She tells me im crazy, you dont have crackers with soup.
Meanwhile she put butter in her soup while its cooking.
Obv bread is no1 option but what do people have with their soup?

Crackers with soup is good. As is bread, especially recently baked, mmm......
Then again, I sometimes add Bombay mix onto my soup, so I'm probably a bit strange too.

You've spent too long in the USA imo.
Yanks have crackers in their soup, we have croutons (via the French)

No butter in my soup. I like a slice or two of toast. A bit of cheese is sometimes nice, put it in and leave it to melt, but I'm trying to slim atm, so just have a slice of toast.

Butter in Tomato Soup, yes.
Crackers with soup, yes why not?
Peas in vegetable soup? Absolutely not. Spend ages fishing them out

Crispy garlicky Olive oily croutons in me soup.
Allow your thickly sliced bread to go a bit stale first.
