I think he'll go into the Championship, and would be snapped up by many teams there
Also hails from the North West too I believe

I can't see it being Blackpool either.
Possibility of a bigger jobs coming up at Birmingham/Wednesday/Leeds?

Surely he'll wait for a bigger job than Blackpool?
he deserves it George. Trouble is there are not that many big Jobs available. I hoped he would get the chance to prove himself in the prem with The Saints and attract the attention of the big clubs.

not really comparing like for like, as the Espanyol budget was cut massively a few months before he was sacked the previous two years - mid table - he was seen as one of the up and comers in Spain Not defending the appoitnment, just pointing out that there is usually a story behind what the league table tells you

This is about on par with the bonkers decisions being made at Forest too.
I'd be delighted to have Adkins as manager.
Getting fed up with top level football TBH, it seems no chairman has any kind of patience any more, it's madness.

Just one of a whole host of senseless sackings in recent years. Do they really think they are going to do better without him? The fact that their price to go down has got shorter this morning suggests otherwise.

My interest in football dies week by week as this kinda of idiocy along with professional cheating being justified for monies sake just making a laughing stock of the entire set up!
Hope he gets into a decent club really soon

Exactly my thoughts. Used to be a season ticket holder, now it's like "oh well, lost again" Can't even get fired up about Derby v Forest tomorrow. This game made me nervous on match days, don't care 5 mins after the final whistle nowadays.

I would not even have bought in Jose Mourinho at this present time. Adkins should have been contender for manager of the month. They bring in the new guy to meet the long term ambitions of the club. I bet their chairman does not back this up with the money needed to be a top level club.

I think it's a bizarre decision, but didn't Southampton spend a good £30 million in the pre-season on Ramirez/Rodriguez etc?
It might be misguided, but if the owner thinks that should secure an upper mid table place then I think it is there own business if they are putting that cash up?
