Heard about it on the news this morning.  If it's not bad enough to be a drug smuggler anyway, why would you risk doing it in countries that have the death penalty ? Idiotic.

Greed, end of. Probably wont actually get the death penalty but still. In all honestly I think I'd rather have the death penalty rather than life in the shitty prisons in that part of the world.

There's must be other countries to get stuff from that don't have the death penalty.

Massive amounts of drugs are produced in Burma and sent across into Thailand, a fair amount is still produced in Thailland and Laos too. So they are always looking for greedy mules to willing to take the risk of getting it through to different parts of the world for a large lump of £££. Remember that most will in fact get through.

I don't know how they get 4.8kg to have a street value of £1.6 mill , as reported
They must be cutting it with so much crap to get to this figure that there would hardly be any cocaine left. They do seem to exaggerate the street value of these busts.

I have no idea, but I would have thought it would make more sense to cut it at the final destination so the package getting carried is as small as possible.

That is what would happen I presume, but when they give a valuation of the seizure it is always the street value (i.e after it has been cut up). No way should 4.8kg be worth £1.6 million unless they are mixing it with so much crap.

Its easy  just do the math, it would be over £330 a gram. Im not sure but I doubt its that expensive to buy

I'm totally ignorant to such matters, what is the 'going rate' for a gm?

I would not know but if I was to hazard a guess, I would say around £50. Just a guess mind

Would it not be 'diluted' that much before it's sold on the 'street'?

So if the ' street value ' is to be believed, you can imagine what people are actually putting up their nose, thinking it is cocaine
