Deep stack, facing a shove

SkyPoker "roller", £110 (30k), 10,000 starting chips, MTT, 6-max.
Blinds 100,200. No ante. Table playing fairly tight. Hero (viewed as a LAG I would think) sat on the button, with 12,500. Villain (TAG as far as I can see) in the cut-off 11,500.
All fold to villain who limps, hero
raises to 650, Sb and BB fold.
flop (1,600) :
Villain donks out 800
Hero raises 2100
Villain insta all-in
Hero???

Raise more pre. Top 2, hence blockers to sets, drawing board means you can't fold. Some there can be horribly nitty but others are crazy. You always have 4 outs twice when he flips 77. If he flips KK make a note and walk all over him from now on.

I wouldn't normally try so hard, but didn't have another opportunity I could wait for. I wasn't ready to surrender what I WANTED SO MUCH, that easily, I couldn't guarantee a call with me staying stoic and relying on a flinch "top pair" calling reflex.

it means they presume this is a bad beat and that you must put 50p in the "fine jar" for telling us

Right, cheers. Don't do bad beat stories, it's poker, sh*t happens.
Is his range here considering his image : nut flush draw with the
? Or
or
or 7x7x, and I'm only a slither above 50% on the best of these. Had discounted AK (raise pre), KK (raise pre and blockers) and 10 10 (blockers)
This is a fairly big tournament for me, edge of bankroll, but I just wondered whether it's an instant snap, or whether to peel the flop etc.

hang on, you are flipping (maybe), but there is 5400 juicing the pot so what you worried about flipping for?

good point, I think, given it's fairly early stages and I still have 50BBs, that it was maybe a little early for a likely flip. Although, wtf do I want to hit, raising with K10 eh? Just wasn't happy with the speed of the shove.

Heh, succinct. Think I'll just stop worrying about it.
Cheers

Don't worry bud, things are a little different on this Forum, they are not being rude, just a little flippant. Nice flippant though.
It's a pretty standard spot.
Villain is not forced to have a set, he can have Q-J, or two diamonds, & even if he has a set of sevens, we have outs. He could even have aces, which would be a good thing.
Get it in & cross your fingers, it is very probably a good spot.
Hope you enjoy blonde, & stick around.
