Hiya all,
I'm Apoac (Dan IRL)- based in the wilderness of Ipswich, suffolk, after finding out about the world of poker
Annoying for me now is realising used to live a short distance from Luton casino... and didn't even realise it had a cardroom.
Play mostly small MTT's, STT's on Betfair/Crypto sites (prefer Crypto for STT/MTT due to them having more freezeouts)- as Apoac and some micro-limit NL cash games on Prima (Apoac also).
I'm only learning, so be gentle if you see me. That said, I don't think I'm doing bad, as finished 15th in a 275 strong 2 MTT on Sat night, and won 3 3 STT's, placed top 3 in 7, and lost 6.

Dan,
Welcome, i think you'll enjoy it here
You'll be made very welcome too at Luton if you decide to make the trip back at some stage
Tuesday is 10 rookie night
other cheapish nights are Wednesday (20 pot limit) and Thursday (20 no limit)
Just come along, ask about things you are not sure about.
Also, in case you didn't know there are cardrooms in Yarmouth and Southend, check the casino directory via the fron t page for details

Didn't know about Southend - knew about Yarmouth though. Yarmouths about a 1.5 hour drive in the evening (visited a friend there last week). It doesn't appeal as the roads from here to there are a nightmare of varying speed limits. Southend should be a nicer, less hassle drive, as is Luton.
Luton is also only 1.5 hours away on a nice fast route- and given the choice I'll go back there. Tuesday is a nice night for me, so will probably make it up there during the summer. Whats the start time/time reccomended for arrival - don't want to arrive late....!
Southend is nearer (about 45min-> an hour I think) - anyone here go and can reccomend a beginner night ?

Southend is the Rendezvous casino. I only went once for a 100 sunday nighter but the cheaper night is 30 NLH on a Wednesday. Quieter than Luton on a tuesday!
Tuesday's in Luton...8.30pm start be there 8.15ish
Expect about 100 runners, some tables are fast and furious, be aware of your budget before you go and play your own game!
good luck wherever you go.

Probably take you about 1.15hrs to Southend I would think from Ipswich - (I live nr Colchester and can do it in about 45-50 on a good run).
Westcliff casino have 10 rebuys on Thurs nights - 82 runners max I think it is and usually fills. The standard there is generally a lot weaker than the likes of Luton etc I would suggest and it's not so well run in fairness but it's a reasonable game all the same and a good place to start if you wanna dip your toe in the water...
Good luck!

And there's me thinking I was the only poker player in Ipswich.
Dan, I've just joined the Southend casino so if you want the details of whats on and when PM me. Also know of some small 20 freezeouts in Ipswich which you might be interested in, especially as the competition is soft, mainly dodgy taxi drivers playing any two cards. These games are on a Sunday, Monday and Wednesday. I also have details of some homes games if your interested.

Welcome apoac, & it's typical of this Forum that so many blondeites are ready with advice.
I have a little advice too....
If you can afford 20, there is gonna be a 20 Cryptologic-blondepoker Private Tourney THIS THURSDAY at 8pm. Crypto have added 500, and there is a 100 Bounty on my head too. We intend to have a competitive tourney and a lot of laughs & there will be a Live Update thread running in parallel with it. I do hope you can join us, & get to know some of your fellow blondeites.
