Do we have any these days?

I can see what my friends post on other people's FB's & they can probably see what I post on others.

Also, non friends can look through photos & comments and so on & actual no way to stop it.

Getting a bit tedious with the lack of privacy at the minute on Facebook Sad

You can restrict what you post so non-friends can't see it.

You can also post to secret groups if you want.

You can also choose not to post at all on their website...

They have changed them.

Have a second account imo. One for family and small number of sensible friends, and a second one for talking nonsense away from the sensible lot, or even a private group for degen friends with tourettes..

plus every major employer now will check you out online before they employ you. Even if they say they dont i would say 99% they do. Considering the company i work has a whole department dedicated to doing this kind of work for a company!

Tbh even small employers with half a brain will type your name into google now a days. Stupid not to!

But they can't find shit out about you on FB as long as you don't let randoms in, your profile is not public on there and have a sensible cover pic etc.

My profile is set to a privacy level that prevents anyone other than friends from seeing anything beyond the profile pic (I think)

Isn't that obvious?  Don't you do and say things to friends that you would make you feel uncomfortable in front of your parents or older family members.  Would you really want your prospective employer to see that daft drunken picture of you with a traffic cone on your head that you think your friends would appreciate?  We all act differently according to the company we keep in certain situations surely?

I would like it like Mark's where just my profile picture is just on show.

There are family members I do not get on with & they can still see all my pictures, etc. Not only this, but I have a stressful work situation where it's not ideal for others to see anything to be quite fair.

Like I said in the previous post the privacy settings on Facebook are getting worse. I can see what friends post on randoms peoples statuses. I would not like that to be the same situation as me.

I just don't let any work people on mine. I would personally bin anyone I did not get on with family or not. I don't get all these people that have hundreds of friends on there, seriously who has that many friends in real life anyway?

This.

I have loads of pending requests & I wonder why people add complete randoms? Also hate stupid idiots who can't grasp the English language and type every word starting with a capital letter. The share button is just a carbon copy of a RT on Twitter zzzzz!

I don't have family members that I get on with on my Facebook, never mind the ones I don't.

Just been through my FB settings. Been a while since I did it. They added a function that means you can view your page as anyone you want now. Pretty cool
