I wouldn't normally try so hard, but didn't have another opportunity I could wait for. I wasn't ready to surrender what I WANTED SO MUCH, that easily, I couldn't guarantee a call with me staying stoic and relying on a flinch "top pair" calling reflex.

If he has an off day he's truly the most annoying but normally I think he's hilarious.

Stapes is quality.... I get he could be annoying to some as there's no doubt he overcooks it sometimes(!), but for the most part he makes it much more fun to watch. His timing's good too, switching well from joking around to decent poker analysis. Plays really well off James Hartigan too, a good balance.

Blimey.
I'm surprised everyone likes him.
I think he is like an American version of Colin Murray.
Only more annoying.

I love Stapes too, at the end of the day he is a comedian
In the early days of Hartigan/Stapes EPT commentary Stapes was given the poker analysis (done by Jimmy Fricke I believe) and basically added that to his comedy
I presume Stapes is doing the analysis himself these days ably assisted by JamesH who is the best in the business for me

Yep, I like both of them as well. The format is really good, and in some ways more enjoyable than watching two Yanks playing pots of hundreds of thousands. As the Old Fella has said, that will probably also appeal to those who only dabble a little bit at poker and attract more new players.

Is he really a comedian or am I being whooshed?
I certainly wouldn't be queuing up to see him perform.
I wiki'd him and apparently he was a centre back for Uxbridge Town in the 1950s

The episodes will start running on Sky Poker 861/free Webstream I *THINK* from the 18th Feb at 9. Not 100pc sure but Tikay will likely confirm when gets a spare minute.
The episodes on 861 will have around 15 minutes more hands than the Sky Sports version as there are no ad breaks.
No idea whether they will be uploaded online, I assume it is a possibility tho as Sky Poker uploaded the last series on their YouTube channel.
