Can you just select the about option as in ^ and double check the version you have.

No, the PC I borrowed is downstairs, I am upstairs in the bath.

That first link you posted requires the "Software Update" button which I do not have.

The 2nd link seems to suggest my Version is too old to Update.

Ok. Try and save the pics if you want to by navigating the ippy via windows explorer. Obv the ippy needs to be connected to the pc to do this.
When and if you have accomplished this you can then proceed to restore your ippy as a new ippy. Again this is assuming that you're happy to restore it as new.
