I think I got it all-in pre-flop with KK v AA about seven times in a row (over a period of 6 months+) playing cash at DTD and won every time.  It got to the stage where I would say "unlucky" to the other player if he 'fast-rolled' me with his aces.

One of the players I did it to had been playing in the Virgin comp at DTD, and he was the first player out of the that when his AA was busted by KK.  He came and sat on the .50/1 table and was fairly cheerful and phlegmatic about the manner of his exit from the tournament.  He sat to my immediate right, and on his second hand it was folded to his SB and he raised, and I looked down at .  A few re-raises later and both of our stacks are in the middle and I ask "Aces?" and he nods.  I nod back and flip my cards over and he shows .

Flop: three diamonds

I bought him a drink.
i did wonder how you managed to finance sitting with the likes of Alex, Mitch n Stato Smiley

Wiiiiii now that's what I'm talking about $250k and $230k for one of the best live players and the best tinternet  players around.
Gotta be something in this getting lucky and maybe we need to embrace it more  and moan less Smiley

And Alex with the 1 outer too. I been fighting the "pokers a game of skill" corner for far too long.

In the interest of Alan Stearn balance:

When i first started playing at DTD, I only played .50/1, was 100 cap, and I was winning about 100 quid so had 200 quid in front of me. My mate was playing 1/2 and the .50/1 game was pretty boring so decided to take a shot.

Went on a mini heater and got up to nearly 500 quid and the game broke. There was a 2/5 game open that I remember Sunny Nagi was coaxing me to play in, or I could go back to 50/1.

Gambooooolll right?!

Sat with the lot, won a couple of pots then got AA vs KK and doubled up. All of a sudden I was sat with 1200 quid, which was a ridiculous amount of money to me at the time. A sensible one would go home surely but by now I'd caught the bug! Kept playing and got into a pot with Alan where:

I open UTG with 66, he flats, the blinds come along. It comes 862 with a flush draw.  I bet, Alan and the bb call. Turn 3o, I bet, Alan Calls, bb ships for about 400. I call, Alan now goes all in behind covering me. I call (pretty fkn nervous by this point!). The big blind turns over 45o to our obvious disgruntlement! Ah well, at least I'll still win a bit overall through Alan.

River is a 6. Alan stands up excitedly and launches his cards face up onto the table exclaiming: "NUTS!!!", and rubbing his hands together, having just got there vs the big blind with his 88. I turn my hand over amidst the shaking and rake in the 3k pot effectively trebling my net worth at the time.

Decent life.

Could tell you about all the big ones I've lost, but not really some any big suckouts yet. Just taking the #largeequitybeats on the chin.

I was the best man at a wedding in London, picked up my suit from the tailors in Sheffield, didn't try it on because I assumed it was the same suit I'd tried a few days before, when I got to London the evening before I discovered it was about three sizes too small.

Saturday morning I ring up the tailors head office, they agree to let me get another suit from their warehouse, punch the post code into the Sat Nav to discover it was directly opposite my hotel.

I know its not poker, but that was my 'one time' right there.

Playing 1/2 cash at G/Sheffield.

Chinese guy, very loose likes to gamble, reloads, but for very little most times.

I have AA.

I can't remember how it went, but I imagine I raise, he calls, like he usually does.

FLOP

 Two Diamonds

Money goes in on flop & I am just wanting to avoid him hitting his middle pinner & hoping for a pair up straight away.

I turn my cards over to say "ok, I have won" but he instead turns his cards over quicker than the speed of light and show pocket 5's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dealer deals the river so chuffing quick for me to hardly realise anything & the river is.....

Not a suck out as such, but still pretty lucky

DTD GP 12 left I think

I have AA utg and raise,
utg +1 shoves ( I cover comfortably)
2 folds
another all in (also covered comfortably)
and a long slow tank fold from the only stack on the table that can seriously damage me

hands go over and folds are discussed
hands are
AA me
99
72o
JJ folded
KK
QQ folded

board runs out xxJQQ
