Local snooker club cash game. Me and guy at side of me left in the pot, i bet £15 on the river. He hums and hars while doing so flash's one card at me. I immediately scoop the pot while he's going mental insisting he was going to call. Thoughts please.

Assuming he has said nothing?

Hand is still live, even though he's looking for a reaction, he can still call and win the pot

p.s don't play in unlicensed games in case of disputes ;-)

100% live, looks like a bit of an angle from you tbh (although I'm sure you weren't, just what it looks a little like..)

He'd hummed and harred for maybes 2 minutes, when he flashed the card i assumed it was a fold, surely he's angle shooting

No, that's not necessarily a fold unless it's a house rule

what did he do to make you think he's folded? Your hand isn't dead if you show one card

I assumed he was folding by showing me one card. I think the fact he was 2 minutes making a decision THEN showed me the card, he was going to fold

It might appear like that (by showing you one he's trying to get a read, yes?) but unless he has said "Fold", or his cards have hit the muck, then his hand is live

Cards speak until then, whether he shows you one, throws it in the air and catches it or blows raspberries while he thinks

"ok" is subjective. It's not great etiquette, depending on the circumstances.

It's a snooker club cash game. Dealer dealt? Supervisor watching the hand? Those without great etiquette can get away with far more in these games than they could in a licensed venue

I play in a game at my local legion where you can do "I'll call that....(five seconds)...and raise..."

They also have arbitary blind levels ("Shall we put the blinds up?"), people hiding their big chips, people stepping in while one bloke goes to the bar...

You name it.

I wouldn't rake in the pot in your spot, but law of the jungle, so whatever.
