UKIPT Cork thread

The Rochestown Park Hotel will be the venue for the six-day festival, during which time 12 UKIPT tournaments – including satellites – will take place. The first event begins at 18:00 on Feb. 13.
The tournament that receives the most attention will be the four-day Main Event, which has had its buy-in upped to €770 from the €560 of the previous season. Day 1a of the UKIPT Cork Main Event gets underway on Feb. 14 at 12:00
Last season’s UKIPT Cork Main Event saw 602 players pack into the Rochestown Park Hotel and created a €291,970 prize pool. The largest slice of that money went to the popular pro Sam Razavi, who picked up €71,000 after he defeated David O’Connor heads-up. Should the Main Event receive similar numbers this year, the prize pool will be boosted significantly and we could be talking about a €100,000 first place prize.

Anyone local to Cork - or been before - and know a decent bar that does food and will show the Madrid vs Man Utd game?
Any Blondes playing I'll be doing live updates (I'm the one who looks like Sam Razavi but has approx $950,000 less in tournament earnings), so please if you see me walking around the room say hi, tell me about hands etc. It all helps the blog, which unlike Blonde's isn't interactive, tick over. Or alternatively post your twitter handle and, if I don't already, I'll follow you.

For anyone there on Wednesday, the East Village Bar - also the venue for the players party - is about 10 mins walk away and is a sports bar so will have the game on.

The hotel will also be showing the match if you are feeling lazy.
The main hotel bar is actually pretty decent and gets pretty busy IIRC

I put in a return ticket departing on Thursday and returning Monday and it came up with direct flights from the following airports in the UK:
Stanstead
Heathrow
Gatwick
Liverpool
Edinburgh
Glasgow
Manchester
Bristol
Birmingham
I believe they are all daily flights as minimum with the exception of Bristol.

In addition to the player party we will be hosting welcome drinks/beers during the Man Utd vs Real Madrid match from 7:30pm tomorrow (Wednesday) in the Atrium bar at the Rochestown Park Hotel.
