I received a Media Release from Seth this morning, as follows.....
Dear Media Members,
Thank you for your great coverage of the WSOP Schedule Announcement last week. There was one area where we received a fair amount of inquiry into and that was the Ladies Event.
So I thought I would help clarify the WSOP Ladies Event structure sheet/starting chips. All entrants in the Ladies Event (Event #51) will begin with 3,000 in tournament chips. Ladies entering will get the discounted rate of $1,000 as their buy-in, with $900 going straight to the prize pool. Men entering the event will pay the $10,000 entry fee, of which $9,000 goes directly into the prize pool.
I have attached the Ladies event structure sheet, as well as several other bracelet event structure sheets that do deviate from the three times starting stack vs. buy-in that most WSOP events follow. In fact, in addition to these events, we also run Daily Deepstack tournaments and Mega-Satellites, etc., with a starting chip stack that doesn’t correlate to buy-in, and the attached four bracelet events fall into this category too.
The 4 Events covered by the above are....
$1,000 Ladies Event (Event 51)
$500 Casino Employees Event (Event 1)
$1,111 NLH Re-Entry (Event # 58)
$111,111 One Drop High Roller (Event 47)
