Definitely ironic, but also sad that he was only 52.

It would be ironic if a cardiologist who campaigned against the heart attack grill died of a heart attack. This was inevitable.

Victoria Coren's Fear of Flying Therapist dying in a plane crash was ironic.

You win a copy of Alanis Morissette - Jagged Little Pill. (now that's ironic, don't you think?)

Loved Ed Byrne back then.
Went to see him live in Wolverhampton about 3 years ago and he was excellent. Seems to be a bit hit-and-miss on telly though. Dara O'Briain live is fantastic though, excellent ad-libbing.

Dara is fabulous live, shame he's gone the arena route though. Comedy is best in small venues. Ross Noble was the best flight of fancy comic i've ever seen live though. But i think he's also slipped into the 'not as good as he used to be' category along with Al Murray's Pub Landlord act. I saw that back in the early days at Arlington Arts Centre. Nowadays the audience come to agree with him; which is kind of ironic ...

Arena comedy is awful. I saw Al Murray and that wasnt too bad but I was near the front, but all the others were dross. The intimacy is one of the main reasons live comedy works, nothing beats seeing a good comic in a crowded pub.
