Really is dead.
Very sad news for me, one of my favourite comedy actors.
He was brilliant in Ever Decreasing Circles.
RIP

Ever Decreasing Circles is one of the great underrated British comedies. It was a family favourite in our house. RIP

Agree.
While The Good Life was easy viewing and obviously good fun, EDC was dark and fantastic - really showed off his talents.
Any actor could have played Tom Good, but Briers excelled in EDC.

Very sad news, a great comedy actor.
His son -in-law works for us, so we will be raising a glass or two of red tonight.
RIP

Agreed, a brilliant, obsessive, paranoid, but loveable, little man type character. The guy that played Paul was also fantastic as his nemesis.

I'm sure the BBC will show an episode of The Good Life as a tribute.
Rather see the episode of EDC where Paul broke all the village cricket team records.

The Good Life, Ever Decreasing Circles, Roobarb and Custard - all fond memories from my youth.
A sad loss.
Just seeing this clip from a movie trailer made me want to watch this movie (the movie isn't great, Richard Briars was).

Think I've found the right the parts:
Apologies if I've not got the right ones. Hugely underrated show. Never been one for the Good Life. Hard to find a show anywhere on TV where so many of the main characters are loathsome.
Fabulous actor. Much missed already.

That's the one.
Brilliant stuff.
Bit harsh on The Good Life.
Paul Eddington was always incredibly watchable.
As was Felicity's Kendall's bottom.
