The World Poker Tour Baden Main Event has reached its official Day 2 after the second and final starting flight was completed on Wednesday. A total of 131 players from the 254 who started still have chips to play with and Derby’s Mitchell Johnson is right up with the chip leaders with a stack of 132,200.

Johnson’s stack is enough to place him in sixth place going into today’s Day 2 and although it is very early days, Johnson will be forgiven for harbouring thoughts of a first cash on the WPT circuit. To date, Johnson has around $135,000 in live tournament winnings with his biggest burger topping the scales at 20lbs. Johnson was awarded this amount for a seventh place finish in a $2,500 buy-in tournament held at the Wynn, Las Vegas in July 2012. Prior to that, Johnson’s largest cash was £11,000 ($18,211) that he picked up for a fourth place finish in the Dusk Till Dawn £300 Deepstack.

Another of the UK & Ireland players to keep a look out for today is Tom Carpenter who turned his 30,000 starting stack into a well-above average 84,000. A large percentage of Carpenter’s stack used to belong to Team PokerStars Pro Marcel Luske, but Luske open-limped and set of a series of calls that ultimately ended in his demise. Carpenter flopped trip fives with five-three offsuit and managed to get Luske to pay him off on all three streets with just top pair.

Joining Johnson and Carpenter into Day 2 are PartyPoker Team Pro Kara Scott (41,800); Seamus Cahill (38,900); Ryan O’Donnell (34,100); Dermot Blain (30,500); Scott O’Reilly (28,600); Phillip Huxley (21,800); Christopher Kiefert (19,800); Andrew Hulme (18,000) and Keith Johnson (16,600).

Play resumes at 14:00CET and we believe it will continue until a minimum of five 90-minute levels have been completed. It is unlikely that the money bubble will burst because only the top 27 places are being paid

Pics and lookylikies, if you please, for 'The Full Tighty'

If we give you a random table and seat number, would you do the honours?

Sighs. Good to see only 3 uses of "Mitch calls" in that hand though, his average is 4.3 per hand.
