Welcome to the fourm.

I think there is a thread about the £750 in the live tournament updates board.

So how about this for a play from Mr Trumper

blinds are 600-1200

Aces has 20,000 odd

limps in the cut off

Button, unknown player makes it 5k to go. He has 20k

Kevin Twigg in the BB flat calls, he has 30k

Aces flat calls behind

three to the flop, c17k in the middle

flop

twigg and trumper check

button bets 6k

twigg folds

aces, after  long think, flat calls

turn

check check

river

check check

Aces says one pair, he wins

his hand?

Apparently he will explain how he worked it all out in his blog

Simon had about 30k at 4am, going strong....had been a very topsy turvy night with the chip count going haywire

but was in good shape when I left

ian, i am sure that would be great. Heidi has a lappie and all the connections so if need be just bring yourself and a notebook!

It is a tough job to do on your own, and I may last in the event for awhile, you never know! So Iam sure the help would be appreciated

Trumper's play seems quite reasonable to me there, the bet of 1/3 the pot stinks to me of a continuation bet with ak/aq and and it is certainly better than a 1 in 4 chance that it is exactly that type of bet being made which is the odds Trumper has for the call. He also knows the guy can't really bet this hand again without the goods. I'd be more impressed if the guy had fired again on turn or river and Simon had calle him down iwth bottom pair. That would be top class.

OK, I guess I'm the only one awake with any info (thanks to being at work).

From 104 starters, we finished last night down to the 18 who have made the money.  Those still in include Rob Yong, Aces, Carlo and me (yay!)  There may be others from Tighty's list but I don't know them by sight to tell you!

It was an eventful evening for me to say the least.  I managed to lose most of my original stack very quickly to M3Boy with QQ vs AK on a flop which came A-A-A.  5,000 chips down to 1,300 in not much time.  I opted not to take the top-up at that point, for fear of being a little tilty after that hand.  This allowed me to play 'short-stack poker' on the first blind levels which turned out to be much more fun than my usual steady grind and probably confused everyone sat around me.  (Highlight, Sir Mickey Wernick admitting that he was scared to death to try to raise my big blind!)

I ended up getting the original stack back up to about 9,600 by the time the 3rd level ended ahead of the top-up, albeit with some good fortune on the way when all-in for about 2,000 chips with 54s vs A4s on a flop of 5-3-2, only for the turn and river to come 4-5!

I went from just under 15k at the break to about 27k, then had Aces cracked in a pot that would have taken me to 45kish but instead left me back at 12k.  After that it was steady progress, helped by a couple of double ups at key moments, to leave me with 76,500 at the end of play.  This is the only chip count I can give you with any accuracy so I won't bother trying, I was out of the door as soon as I'd signed the sheet!

Play commences again at 2.45 this afternoon.
