Thank you very much indeed. Hello, I'm Alexander Armstrong and a very warm welcome to a special blondepoker edition of Pointless, the show where the lowest scorers are the biggest winners.

Now, seeing as all of our players are on a forum there's only one person for me to introduce. If obscure knowledge was an olympic event then he'd have been guaranteed a gold medal at London 2012. It's my pointless friend, it's Richard.

Hiya, hello.

Good afternoon sir. Are you well?

I'm very well thankyou. It should be a cracking game today. I'm told these people really know their stuff when it comes to obscure knowledge. I'm expecting big things.

Thank you very much indeed Richard. Now, all our questions on Pointless have been put to 100 people before the game began and our contestants have to come up with the answers no one else has thought of. What they're looking for of course is a Pointless answer, and every time that happens we will add £0 to the jackpot. Seeing as this is the first time we've ran a forum edition our jackpot starts at an impressive £0.

Right, if everyone's ready... Let's play Pointless.

Our category for Round 1 is... English. English. Richard.

Yeah, in this round we are going to give you 2 questions, one relating to English Language, and the other English Literature.

Thank you Richard. So, we gave 100 people 100 seconds to name:

Q1: Shakespeare Plays

Q2: Mathematical terms ending "-ion"

Richard.

Self explanatory I should think. For Q1 we are looking for any play written by Shakespeare. There are 37 according to wikipedia and that is what we are using as our source. For Q2 your term must be a single word. We are not accepting proper nouns or hyphenated words. Good luck.

So... send me your answers to the 2 questions by PM. You are looking for answers you think will score the lowest (i.e. that fewer people will know) The deadline for submissions is Sunday 14th April - 7pm.

This quiz is going to run in a multiple round format. This first round will knock out enough players to leave us with 15 players for Round 2. Future rounds will eliminate more players.

There is a week to send your 2 answers in. However, for round 2 onwards the deadline will be at max 2 days from updating this thread. If everyone's answers are in earlier then I will update earlier. It will play down to 1 player who is crowned the winner and has the chance of playing for the jackpot.

I should point out that the questions have not been asked to 100 people. I don't know 100 people. A couple I've taken them from elsewhere, but the majority have been given to 20 people and the results extrapolated from there. It may also be worth knowing that these questions were set a good 6 months ago. It doesn't make any difference to these 2 questions but it might in future questions.

Good luck!

Is this in lieu of an RSQ or a bonus quiz?

Either way, I'm undoubtedly to be participating.

I was hoping to win a quiz before putting mine up but seeing as no other quiz was forthcoming (is that a word?) I decided to just go for it Smiley

Fair enough, so.

Just to be abso-clear, you are not suggesting players can use Wiki as their source?  All answers must be given off the top of one's own head in full quiz conditions yes?

Ha! It seems that is only you & I bothered by coloured text.

On this occasion, I suppose it is not Pointless.

Yes, no using wiki or cheating etc.

I thought the coloured text was justified just this once Smiley
