When I have beans on toast, I have the whole tin as shown on the right in the picture.
Was told at work that the correct amount for a single serving was the tin on the left and that I was being a Gannet.
Problem is, the smaller tin would leave no extra sauce to wipe up at the end and not enough beans to fill me up.
Am I a greedy gannet who needs to exercise some portion control or are my work colleagues talking drivel??

Seems okay, it's what I do.

The beans have to be poured straight from the tin onto the toast - none of this reheating business, unless you actually want horrible grungy sauce and mushy beans.

I like 4 slices of buttered toast with one spoon full of beans on each.

ewww

Fwiw i'd never even consider the smaller tin, too much effort warming them up for so little. Rather just have toast with butter.

Same with soup, a portion is half a can but I usually have the whole can when I have it.

I don't think there's anything wrong with, just that official portion sizes are small

I have the smaller tin for the reverse reason, I like to limit my bean juice.

I imagine this debate could divide opinion almost as much as the Thatcher thread.

How could you expect to repel an invading army with just a small can of beans inside you?

I used to be a 'big tin of beans, pour it all over the place and make a right mess' guy, but then I found these.

Do you pull the plastic off all 4 pots simultaneously and 'ave the lot?

The big tin is a regular serving for any grown man. Would be happy to have a snap pot if I lived in a doll's house.

I stick a nob of butter in the beans when heating to actually help the sauce go more 'grungy' or however you want to describe it.
