broadband has come too ironside

for years now my broadband has been disconnecting periodically
espically when i am downloading a big file pain in the ass really
so never really downloaded much and at a 1.5 gig download speed
didnt watch much streaming video or anything
late last year my exchange was upgraded and we were supposed too get upto 8 gig
download speed mine went upto 2.4 was a kinda bonus but as i live a couple of miles
from the exchange thought it was best i would get
last night my broadband went down totally and wouldnt connect
got through too my isp after changing filters and disconecting everything apart from my modem
tech support guy got me too open up the port on the wall and connect my modem into a test
port and suddenly i am getting an 8 gig download speed and the web has opened up too me
still waiting for a mate who works for BT too pop round he is going too check everything inside my house
as BT wont do that and currently i have an open port and connected to test port and no phone line

so i need too know what sites i can watch old (60-90s) tv shows on that are not going too trigger my anti virus every 30 seconds

thanks in advance for your help

this web is kinda cool i havent been this excited since i started getting freecalls too the net on my isdn

cant you get BT Infinity ?

they put free fibre optic cable into our house , what we realy notice is the upload speed which is 20mb/s , download is 76mb/s but varies a bit , in few years time will be 300mb/s

Worst thing about BT Infinity is that they throttle P2P connections at 'peak times'.

So who would you recommend for fibre then Kin?

Virgin, sadly, don't serve my area.

It should be fine to plug a broadband filter into the test socket then the phone and broadband straight into that, you will still be bypassing the internal wiring.
