Vegas roll guidence

Planning on gearing my next year of pokerments to do a month in vegas summer 2014. Since people are readying to go this summer, I thought now would be a good time to ask a few things:
I plan on targeting the lower buy-in series', play a number of wsop sattys, and probably 2-3 1k's.
For those kind of buy-in's, over 30 days, how much would you plan on taking?
I thought I'd play on roughly 20 of the 30 days, so around $10k would be sufficient.
I also don't plan on selling any of myself, so how much of my total roll (percentagewise) should I think about taking?
Obviously don't wanna take my whole roll to vegas, but wondering if 50% of it would be too aggro?

How good is your self control? Almost everyone spunks money left right and centre in Vegas. Nice food and gambling are most peoples weaknesses in my experience.
If you want to go out there and think that earning money would be your biggest buzz then you could probably work up a good estimate on how much money you will spend but if having a good time will occasionally mean letting your inhibitions take over then it's pretty hard to budget to be honest.

If you mean your total roll is $20k and you are planning on taking $10k:
It all depends on your aversion (or otherwise) to risk and the possibility of busting it. The sats that go most frequently are in the $200-$500 range, they are STT WTA (altho chops are quite common) so with 3 WSOP events and a little bit of run bad in sats, you are definitely going to get $10k into play pretty quickly.
If losing 50% of your roll doesn't bother you, then sure, pays yer money and takes yer chance. If you lose it and you are fine with changing your flight and coming home early, no probs.
You are prolly going to go through about $5k without trying just staying in Vegas for a month ~ that's without doing anything excessive. Sure, you can just eat 1 free buffet a day and not drink and do it on a shoestring, but most people don't.

ty for responces
That was just a poker roll- I'll have separate allocation for beer, food, flights and accom.
Its unclear how the stt sats play out on the website.
I was guessing they'd be 300-500ish 9-10 player sng with a flat payout in lammers? But obviously going to be chopped regularly

lammers are awful
you just get lines of people near the cash desk trying to sell them and hassling you. all of whom who look dodgy when they do it. most of whom probably aren't but they have nothing of value until they sell the lammer if they dont want to play the event. Rio really do like to make things hard.

Take everything yiou have, a coupole of credit cards and access to a personal loan agreement.
Often do the triple circuit of Rio, Venetian, Caesars in one day - it has to be done.
Have the best summer of your life.
Seriously tho, after doing a few summers I think its all about having a plan; then sticking to it - with some flexibility within rules you make yourself. Keeping life money seprate is a good idea; essential if selling action as well. I can be biggest degen in world and Lucky Scrote is spot on, so I always have seperate rolls / spending money, buy in advance, leave entries on deposit at casinos etc. If I have a blow out I can afford it.
There are so many value spots in Vegas, $10k roll is plenty to give yourslef a shot at a profitable summer - however sample size is small over a month and you need to be clear before you go on how much of this is shot taking and an experience and how much is work with a serious ROI target. If the later, you shouldnt be playing the $1k - $1.5k IMO from a $10k roll. Your focus should be on the disciplines you excel at. If youre a good SnG player the sats are good value at the lower end; play these with some "shot targets" with the lammers you win. If youre an MTT specilislaist, focus on the smaller $400 Venetian events, Golden Nugget, Ceasras, Aria and Dailiys at the Rio at around the $200-$400 ABI mark. The problem I found first year when I took a similar amount to you is you are putting too much in play when you play a $1k-$1.5k at the Rio and it has an impact psycologically as well as on your roll. 3 turns to 4 and its easy to brick 5 on the spin.
If its a "shot summer" - well you can do what you want; all Id say is four weeks is a long time - and I think the better plan is a solid schedule at $300-$400.
Good luck

I remember in 2010 I went for 3 weeks, I had a schedule drawn up playing 12 tournaments at Caesars and the Venetian. Come the 8th of July when I flew home, I had played 1 tournament

I can't comprehend a poker player planning a schedule for a trip to Vegas 14 months before he leaves!

Maybe he turns 21 in 2013...
It might sound extreme, but it is better than what usually happens, where poker players don't make a decision to go until their results are known from the week before...

I actually turn 21 during the series this year, but am travelling with my girlfriend through summer.
Basically I'm about to graduate undergrad and begin a part time Msc, whereby I will have a few years to focus on poker and giving that a go (while staying in the "real world")
I'm thinking about this all now because I wanna put my self in a position to take a % of my roll to vegas next summer for the series. I don't wanna jeopardise too much of my financial gains, but wanna take enough to have a shot of livin' the dream etc.
This impacts how i split my time both online and live over the coming 12 months, where a put in most of my volume online (rakeback etc) and how many shots in relatively large liveaments (GUKPT's Genting's) I take.
Just trying to put out feelers in attempt to learn from the people who've been there done that before, to give me the best shot at succeeding.
I'm also a massive travel expenses nit, so planning stuff around future adventures is a big thing for me

This isn't nitty, this is your reward for being organised. Staying 7 to a room in IP for $20/night is nitty.
Turning a £1k flight into the same flight for £500 by being organised is great.
Turning a £1k flight into a 2-stop flight for £500 via Amsterdam and Nairobi is either nitty or punishment for not being organised.
I always find it amazing that people will sleep on the floor to save £5/night but won't save £500 on being organised.
