Good luck to Jake "neverbluff67" Cody in the WPT World Championship

67 players are left fighting for a top prize of $1,150,297 as the WPT’s World Championship event enters its third day of action.
With registration open until midway through Day 2 the final numbers for this year’s WPT season finale were only confirmed late yesterday when the prizepool had managed to top $3.5 million.
The final field for this year’s $25,500 final stood at 146, which means this year winner walks away with a top prize of just over $1 million.
Leading the way at the close of yesterday’s session was Mike Linster. Having won his first WPT earlier this season in Florida at the bestbet Open, Linster continued his recent upswing by raking in 744,000 chips throughout the day.
Linster’s position at the top is far from secure, however, as the likes of Dan Shak (617,300), Antonio Esfandiari (536,100) and yesterday’s WPT player of the day, Jake Cody (453,500), are close behind.
Cody eliminated Phil Ivey (Cody’s four bet pocket jacks and Ivey 5 bet shoved A-T) to complete a second day within the top five overnight chip counts.

The WPT World Championship is down to its final 24 players with recent WPT Canadian Spring Championship winner Amir Babakhani carrying the chip lead into Day 4.
Babakahani and Jonathan Roy, who like Babakhani won a WPT title at the Playground Poker Club this season – back in November – are the only two players standing between Matt Salsberg and the WPT Player of the Year title. Either Babakhani or Roy would have to win the WPT World Championship in order to win POY. Interestingly enough, all three contenders have ties to the city of Montreal.
Jake Cody has 365,000

Was that intentional?
Channel 4 used to put on some great things back in the day.

. Surprised it is rated only 6.8.

Day 5 of the 2013 World Poker Tour World Championship at Bellagio was one of the shortest in the tour's 11-year history. The penultimate day of the $25,000 buy-in event began with eight players attempting to make the six-handed televised final table, and after two hours it was over. Former WPT champs Rocco Palumbo and Daniel Negreanu began Day 5 as the shortest stacks, and they were both eliminated, setting the stage for Friday's final table. The winner will walk away with a top prize of $1,150,297, which includes a seat into next year's WPT World Championship.
Chino Rheem will enter the final table as the leader with 5,495,000 in chips. He'll be joined by Erick Lindgren, Matt Hyman, Brandon Steven, David Peters and Jonathan Roy, who can still claim the WPT Season XI Player of the Year award by winning this event.
Here's how the final table will stack up:
Seat Player Chips
1 Jonathan Roy 1,900,000
2 David Peters 1,085,000
3 Erick Lindgren 3,355,000
4 Brandon Steven 1,210,000
5 Matt Hyman 1,560,000
6 Chino Rheem 5,495,000
