If entering the main event, I presume you can choose which start day you play? Or is your start day allocated to make the numbers even on each day? Thanks in advance,  Nathan

You can usually choose which of the 3 Opening Days you play.

The third one will be much bigger than the first two, as to number of entrants, imo.

1a & 1b progress to 2a, & 1c progresses to 2b.

To specify, what he means by 'usually' is that towards the beginning of the event, they will block the one that has the highest number of runners so as to balance things out.

Play gets underway Wednesday at the Rio with the Casino Employee Event and the $5k Six Max

The Opening Weekend is expected to be huge with the Saturday, June 1 $1500 No-Limit Hold’em event guaranteeing the winner $1,000,000.

The WSOP is from May 29 to July 15, on this thread (well sort of)

The fun has started.

Current leader in the $5,000 Eight Handed NLHE is........

Chris Moorman, 100,000.

Long way to go yet, but there is $550,000 up top. Be nice to see him Lock that up.

Event 2 on the other hand is a biggies, the $5,000 Six Max

481 entered and 336 remain

A very high profile field

http://www.wsop.com/tournaments/chipcounts.asp

One person who did not enter was Mr Channing, who tweeted

"Exercised better game-selection than the egomaniacs in the $5k event. Prob all busy telling the backers how soft it was 1.3 was a bargain"

Nevertheless in the field we have

Moorman
Flushy
Rupert
Vamplew
Firaldo
Max Silver
Brammer
Cody

Ivey Mercier and Negraneau are amongst those already out

The 5k is an 8max Tighty, new addition to the schedule this year I believe.

8-Max seems like a very random format. Most live events are 8-Max anyway when you factor someone else is usually on the phone, buying a drink or gone for a piss.
