IPoker, $15 Buy-in (100/200 blinds) No Limit Hold'em Tournament, 8 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

MP3: 2,139 (10.7 bb)
CO: 2,602 (13 bb)
BTN: 1,383 (6.9 bb)
SB: 6,183 (30.9 bb)
BB: 5,513 (27.6 bb)
UTG+2: 5,735 (28.7 bb)
MP1: 2,810 (14.1 bb)
Hero (MP2): 6,170 (30.9 bb)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with
2 folds, Hero raises to 400, 2 folds, BTN raises to 1,383 and is all-in, SB folds, BB raises to 5,513 and is all-in

Short-stack is relative unknown playing 18/18/11 off only 40 hands.  BB is online and live pro and is 20/19/10 over 106 hands.

I have been folding a lot over last 30 hands.

Call or fold?  What range should I consider BB to be playing?

Very trivial fold

He isn't doing it with <77 right? We are pre ante, if he is a reg he should have plenty tables going and will snap muck a huge % of his hands to a open and 3b

You should turn your thought process around slightly here, not "what does he have", but what is he jamming given we are pre ante and he has seen an MP open and 3b jam  - that's a better way to view these spots. ie what is he jamming and folding out? Pretty sure he will be close to the top of his range here

Yeah.  I am still thinking in hands rather than ranges a lot of the time.  I thought we could be flipping a lot here, as I felt he might play the very top of this range a little trickier and just call in an effort to get all of my chips pre or post-flop.  Is it nonsense to think that?

No, not nonsense, but for him to benefit in any overlay in the pot he has to be beating the 3b'er, so thinking that he is jamming to just get HU has merit, but obv his play has little merit if he is 100% behind (say if he reshoves 22 for ease of argument). He must also consider that you (in theory and without giving him reason to think otherwise) should be opening a fairly tight ish range, so why would he jam a hand like 22, when he stands to be 20% a good deal of the time to win the pot outright (vs 3b'er), but also risk that you are at the top of your range and will call too?

Im not very good at explaining stuff, hope that makes sense

Not nonsense, per se, but it's certainly hopeful thinking. He might do that, but you should just assume that the shove is a hand that wants a call, but knows that him just calling looks too obvious to you. Or, more likely, he sees QQ+, a raise and a 3bet jam and jizzes his pants thinking he's getting a double-up and then some, and not thinking at all how to play his hand given stacks are so short.
