The captain of Bangladesh is called Habbibul Bashar.

Which sounds to me rather like happy ball-basher !

I was always rather fond of Gingang Gooley, I think he was a spinner for India.. But I guess I spelt that wrong.

but who could forget those classic TMS lines from Brian Johnston..

"the bowler's Holding the batsman's Willey"

or from Jonathan Agnew

"Botham tried to get his leg over but couldn't quite manage it"

Still a great listen....

Johnstone was OK, but not really up to John Arlott's standard.

To hear Arlott commentate when Trueman was bowling, or Statham was weaving his magic, or the Bedser twins were doing their thing. Happy memories.

Behave all of you, my family read this. Very smart, my two cats.

Karabiner and Robert HM - STFU.

TightEnd. Ahh, now you are talking.

Gramaphones - yup, remember them.

Ration books - ditto.

Powdered Milk - that too. I notice young ladies these days are far more, "advanced", I fancy dried milk sort of held them back in those days.

Woodbines - my first ever smoke. Boy, did I cough!

If I were not so busy today, I could write a lovely essay on life in the sixties and seventies.

I got Alec Bedser's autograph. Eat your heart out Botham.

Just to take the heat off, I admit to getting Bill Voce's autograph. For the iinfants he partnered Harold Larwood in the bowling against the convicts Aussies in the body line tour.

I will regret asking this, but what on earth does this mean? Shocked

Or have I led too sheltered a life? Huh?
