BetVictor - Money back if Richard Hughes is in the frame.

Hi Tony,

Royal Ascot starts on Tuesday and as one of Europe's most famous race meetings, BetVictor will be offering MONEY BACK on your losses if champion jockey Richard Hughes finishes in the frame.

Hughes won his first British classic last month at the 1000 Guineas and will be aiming to follow that up with success at Royal Ascot. Place a bet on any race and if he finishes in the frame BetVictor we will refund your net losses on the race up to a £25 FREE BET!*

With the hats, glamour and such incredible racing over five days, this is sure to be a right royal affair!

*T&C’s apply.

Kind regards,
The BetVictor Team

The Hughes thing....an article I read

Over the past five seasons, Richard Hughes has been in the places on 26 of 109 horses he’s ridden at Royal Ascot. That’s a place strike rate of 23.85%, meaning you’d be insured on roughly one in four Royal Ascot wagers if you bet every race.

However, looking at the breakdown from year to year, it’s fair to say that Hughesie had a shocker last year, with just one of his 22 rides hitting the board. This was untypical, of course, as previous years had yielded 9/27, 6/22, and 7/20.

Obviously, he’s likely to have a better chance in some races than others, and delving more deeply into the data I deduced the following…

The areas to focus are 5yo’s or younger, and horses priced at 12/1 or shorter. When Hughes has ridden a horse in this context, he has placed 37.74% of the time, and has been profitable to follow blindly! (Small profit of 8.59 units)

Surely the area to focus on is short price horses that Hughes rides?  A 4/1 horse is more likely to place than a 20/1 horse whatever the age.  Think the St James Palace looks the sort of race that is very good race off the top of my head.  Back Dawn Approach and double your money if it wins, money back the vast majority of the time if it loses.  Could probably find a dirty each way in that race too.
