Hi guys, in case you don't know me I'm wazz or Michael Piper.

So first up, I'm selling this package as a share system. I believe that when a package contains tournaments of significantly different values, the standard system of buying a flat % of each tournament at once benefits neither seller nor buyer; this system means that the seller has more of himself in the smaller tournaments, and the buyer has more of an interest in tournaments with bigger buyins and bigger edges. Here is my schedule:

Each tournament is marked up separately, and weighted according to how big the tournament is and what I perceive my edge to be. So to clarify, for every $1 you spend on this package, ~6c goes on the $3k PLO, 18c goes on the $5k PLO, 16c goes on the $5k NLHE and 60c goes on the main event. If this is confusing for anyone please ask away and I will try to clarify but hopefully this makes sense.

I have included the $5k NLHE because I believe it will be somewhat soft - the last big NLHE mtt before the main event, so some recreational players will fly in for this and use it as practice for the main event, a lot of grinders will be burnt out by this point and choose to swerve this mtt, or play it badly, and by this time a few recreational players will have been running very hot and want to enter everything they can.

Next up we have my resume. I've been playing poker as my sole source of income for 7 years. The majority of that time has been spent playing PLO online, with my second focus being on live cash, and then on holdem mtts, both live and online. In the last year I've played very little online as I perceive my edge to be much smaller than it used to be and quite frankly I'm quite naused by the thought of spending all my time in front of a computer screen when I could be socialising and working at the same time.

Here is a sample of my stats from a period of about a year, spanning 2011 and 2012.

My hendon mob; not included is my £15k win in the first International Rake Race.

One of my biggest selling points is that I have experience making it deep in a big tournament, and in front of the cameras. In 2011 I made the final table of EPT San Remo, a 6-day event (the one that Liv Boeree won), playing in front of the cameras for the last two days and being up against some very good players. However, I made a number of mistakes in the aftermath, leading to some investors having to wait up to 5 months to receive their payouts. The thread is here, more details are here, there have been a couple of threads on blonde about it and I can find them if anyone wants. I am obviously very happy to answer any questions about this debacle here, but it should be noted that 2p2 gave me back my marketplace privileges as a result of that second thread linked a year and a half ago and since then I have sold a couple of packages with no issues. It should also be noted that in my 7-year career this is the only 'compromising' situation that I've been in.

I've also coached PLO to a lot of students ~ 50, both face-to-face and online (one guy even flew me out to Hungary!). I've done videos for Cardrunners and articles for both Cardplayer and Poker Player.

This will be my 4th time in Vegas and as such I feel much more comfortable dealing with the novel pressures it gives us. For example, last year, I went for three weeks, and drank only three times the entire time, two of which during my weekend off in LA. I will be working extremely hard this year, with no plans to party (skipping EDC, for example, which I'd love to go to) other than another weekend off in LA/SF. I will be working out a lot, keeping regular, healthy sleeping patterns and eating well. I am already fairly fit, having run two marathons in the last three years. I believe that to be very important to playing WSOP events, especially the main event.

Some of you may know my staker, Dave Burn / MrBIond. Prior to that I have also been staked by Stu / currylover / honeybadger who I count as a good friend. Hopefully both would be happy to give me a character reference. I am not coming up with the rest of the money all by myself, I am currently 'part-staked' with Dave such that I put up a quarter of the money, but I am in profit at the moment so it's a higher proportion of my own money and I will be putting some of my own money up separately. How much, I'm not sure at this point but probably $2-3k extra.

Online screennames are wazzbot on stars, wazzockbot on ftp, wazzock2 and kingsergei74 on party where I have two decent scores, 2nd in their sunday mill and 1st in their highroller.

In the case of a big score my intention is to carry physical $ with me on the plane back and change it at thomas exchange in London, but I'm welcome to better ideas.

Sending online is acceptable but at this stage I'd prefer a bank transfer - if you note that you prefer this option I will PM you.

Twitter is https://twitter.com/wazzbert. If I can get the Rio wifi to work with my iPhone I will be updating every break, otherwise once a day (unless I make a FT in which case I'll splurge on international texts Cheesy)

As much speculation as there is surrounding this staking thread I do have to admit it does look to be good value.

It's a shame that a lot of people will prolly feel reluctant to buy cos it defo is one of the better value staking threads on blonde for the summer, the reason I'm not investing at this juncture is purely because I HATE staking "packages" much prefer bigger chunks of individual events but Mike if you don't sell this out I'll take all 18% of the $3k plo and 10% of the PLO 6max.

Hope this isn't a de-rail hope you sell it.

To be fair to wazz, he hasn't hidden the fact that he was gonna put a thread up once he reached 300, most of his posts have had decent content, and the package looks decent.

Good luck to wazz and anyone who decides to Bi ( see what I did there?) in him. Smiley

In light of the ribbing Michael has taken over the last few weeks, I would like to write a few words in support of his staking request.

I have known Michael for about 7 years and have staked him to play live cash games, as well as buying pieces of his action in tournaments many times.

The San Remo thing was a train wreck, and Michael disgraced himself. But I want to make it completely clear that he never ripped anybody off, or acted with any malice or bad intentions. It doesn't excuse what happened of course, but I think everyone should understand that what he did was caused by 'life-fail', procrastination and silliness rather than any under-hand dealings. He also manned up and took the consequences, learned from it, and has always acted properly since. I believe he has been fully re-habilitated over the last 3 years. He is an honourable guy. And he has finally grown up.

Not to say that he will not ever do something silly again. That's part of the deal with Michael; he makes silly errors in judgement from time to time. I genuinely don't think he will fuck up in a 'serious' way again though - he will handle all important (esp financial) stuff with professionalism. He had better do, or I will kill him. But he might still make a doofus of himself in some other trivial way. Hopefully this will just give investors a laugh at his expense rather than causing them worry and stress like happened three years ago. I personally want to see Michael make a TV table and say or do something ridiculously cringeworthy.

As regards Michael's poker play. He is not a great poker player, an online sicko or an MTT whizz. But he plays well, and has a fair chunk of experience in pretty much all formats of poker (which is all I'd say about myself tbh). When Michael is running good and in the zone he plays very well indeed. In the past Michael has sometimes not played his absolute A game when things have been going badly, but I suspect he is a lot better in this respect now. Moreover, this is reflected in the very fair price he is selling at IMO. If he had tried to sell at more than 1.3 I would not be writing this. But this package looks really good value to me. Especially since Michael is a lot more experienced and grown up now.

I am not 'vouching' for Michael - because I would not vouch for anyone... perhaps Lil'Dave I might make an exception for. I cannot promise he won't run off with your money and spend it on a year's worth of massages lol Wink. But I would make the chance of him doing anything untoward on this stake ridiculously low. I also know that Michael will make a huge effort in Vegas with regard to all the crucial stuff that is often overlooked: routine, eating well, sleeping properly, exercise... and playing his best. And his best is pretty damn good.

Also, I really like the way Michael has handled the ribbing he has got on Blonde. He has made himself look a bit silly in his rush to 300 posts. That is Michael all over, bless him... part of the value you get is to laugh at him when he does stuff like this. But he has taken the ribbing in good spirit, and has not got all defensive about it. He is one of the good guys. And he will continue to post on Blonde after his Vegas trip is over. If he doesn't then I will give him a bollocking.

I am not buying any action in anyone at the moment because I am sick of the whole staking thing, the exorbitant mark-ups and the fact that no-one wants to punt properly on themselves any more (this is only my personal standpoint BTW and I am not saying it is correct... it's just how I feel right now). However, I am going to make an exception in this case and buy 1 share. This is partly because I think I am getting value, and it is also partly because Michael is a friend of mine and I trust him.

So 1 share please Michael.

Additional: Michael, one thing that you should definitely do to 'give value' to your investors is to write regular trip reports on this forum (not just quick tweets so we can follow your progress in the tournament, although these are good too). This is part of the package for investors... we get a sweat, but we also get fun trip reports to read. Hand histories are fine, but much better is funny or interesting stuff that happens whilst you are in Vegas. Especially if you make a fool of yourself in any way Wink

You might like to take 2 minutes to Phone TEG and ask them if they will accommodate you if you walk in a month later with decent 6 figs....

GL with the stake & in Vegas.

Done. Regular trip reports is a very good idea. Will try not to include too much in the way of details of me winning the lot at cash if I'm doing the lot in this package....

They told me they just need some form of proof (doesn't need to be concrete) of where the money is from or what the money is for - didn't specifically ask them about 6 figures but will do so when I go in tomorrow to do my initial change.

A pink slip from the Rio with a 6fig score on it is perfect proof (for customs and TEG) as to why you are packing heavy money ~ so no issues there.  As TEG are usually at least an extra cent or more wider on their USD buy rate (i.e the rate you have to sell to them) they may do it, but worth checking as it obv isn't a standard transaction for a retail FX bureau.
