Don't get this, surely your edge is bigger with bigger stacks?  Unless you edge is in 20 BB shoving over the top?.

Obviusly would love to be balla enough that I can be happy with just 20 bigs for my $3k.

They reserve a seat for people late reg'ing. The theory is that players that late reg are in general of a higher calibre. So by late reging you fill the open seat at a table, rather than already being sat down and having a good player come in and fill it.

Hope that made sense.

lost me

the late reg has too fill an open seat somewhere so if your not a late reg your sat down and if you have an open seat at your table its going too be filled by a late reg who is higher calibre going by your logic

Sort of makes sense. If there are 9 people sat down and you are guaranteed to get a good player as the 10th player then it is better to be that 10th player... not sure it really works out that kuch like that though. Had plenty of worse players sit down as the late reg players.
