BBC website coverage has tongue in cheek this afternoon:
News reaching me that Ivan Lendl is being treated by St John Ambulance after his face seized up from smiling too much - it was clocked at 38 seconds in total and the effort of changing back to his usual frown was apparently too much for him. Wish him well.

You don't notice it so much now that it's spelled correctly.
No need to thank me.

He changed "face ceased" to "face seized".
Tom visits the Betting Board every 27 years to ensure we are all behaving. Next he'll try & sneak in "how to make a cup of tea". Epic.

Hard to explain how happy I am right now. This isn't just about the sport. It means so much to Dunblane as a town.
Thanks Andy.

I see. Pedants gotta ped and all that.
I did just copy and paste from the website, which is my preferred practice when quoting from t'interweb. I could have changed it to
[seized]
or perhaps
ceased (sic)
, although - and don't tell anyone I said this because I realise I'm held in high regard in these parts - I hadn't noticed the error.
I remain, sir, your obedient servant.

Bugger! I didn't realise it was a C&P.
I'm very selective with my pedantry.
I shouldn't really ped anyway, (Glass houses and all that) but I enjoy living on the edge.

If their was a Town in Scotland that deserved to produce one of the best Sportmen the Country has seen then it's this one.

ITV say David Cameron has "[added] to Knighthood speculation" about Andy Murray.
The PM was quoted as saying "I can't think of anyone who deserves one more".
Given that knighthood recommendations actually come FROM the Prime Minister, through the selection committee, following nominations by Ministers and members of the public, I wouldn't call that "adding to speculation"!

When Wade won Wimbledon in 1977 she didn't get an OBE til 1987
Nowadays, the knighthoods come pretty quick, certainly asap after retirement
This probably reflects "honours inflation" in the last 25 years or so. I don't think in this case it necessarily reflects honours sexism as some are suggesting, should it happen vis a vis Murray v Wade

It's a shame we didn't get the chance to ask Tikay to get Shane Warne's view on it
