enjoying the Premier league?

i know expectations were low to start with, but its a long old season being out-matched every game (as all three promoted teams look to be to varying extents) isn't it?

Thought they supported Blackburn Rovers?

Funnily enough, I am not enjoying the Premier League in any way shape or form.

When can we go home to the cozy warmth of the Championship?  It's nice there.  We win games.  And score goals.

Sadly, it appears that all three of us will go back down.  Maybe.

"The dance can reveal everything mysterious that is hidden in music, and it has the additional merit of being human and palpable.  Dancing is poetry with arms and legs” Charles Baudelaire

I am sick of hearing my own voice.  Whining and apologetic, droning on and on … “Ohhh I am soooo busy …”.

So when I received an email late last night from a friend offering me some escapism over lunch today, I snap-called.

I am not going to lie, it was not comfortable upping-sticks and leaving my desk in the middle of the day, and I even caught myself justifying my actions to my reflection in the mirrored walls of the elevators (so, like, everyone does that yeah?)

Undeterred, I walked across town and entered the Bridgewater Hall; a stunningly beautiful international concert hall in the Manchester City Centre.  The ticket in my hand told me I was about to watch

“Mi Luna”

A musical fusion of Spanish Baroque and Flamenco with accompanied Flamenco and Castanets by Mayte Beltran.

The performance was being presented by the Manchester Mid-Day Concerts Society.  Run every couple of weeks, the society invites its audience for a short but delightful programme which runs entirely through your lunch hour.  Genius.

Not many of my friends and peers spent their lunch hour today being hypnotised by the haunting sound of the Farruca or the dark passion of the Fandango.  But I did.  And I loved it.

I fully intend to take advantage of this new found bravado and take some more “me time”.  I work hard enough and life passes by in a flash.

Every year, the Boy and make a “We promise that we will …”  list.  We hate New Year Resolutions so refuse to make them.  We instead write a list of things that we will do the coming year.  Like a mini bucket list.  Previous lists have included things like (1) go horse riding (2) learn to snowboard (3) go to Edinburgh for Hogmanay etc etc.

I am going to expand the 2015 list to include a section called “Lunch Bites” (I guess sort of like a Side Event) and this will include taking time out of my day to try something fun.

I shall let you know what my next adventure is!

Until next time

That's a lovely post Natterley, you write reasonably well for a Northern lass.

You play poker pretty good, too - well done in last night's UKOPS Main Event! A smattering of other blondes made the money, too.

Bless you Tikay, but I cannot possible allow this case of mistaken identity to continue.

It pains me to say it (through gritted teeth) that bromley04 is actually The Boy.

I am Bromley023

One Bromley is kicking the ass of the other Bromley in this UKOPS Series.  I will give you a clue ... Your Belle is the one being kicked!

Turning to a quick UKOPS update, last night's Main Event provided us with a wonderful example of the highs and lows that tournament poker variance.

I shared a table with Marc for a while and at a point relatively late on, we found ourselves AI with me covering him for about 2 bbs.  Marc had unfortunately run his JJ into my KK.

The Poker Gods didn't get the memo though, and Marc flopped the J.  He doubled up to a very good stack and went on to win the thing.

I ended up with 2bbs and went out not long after, about 6 places off the cash.

It's a beautiful game.

Nothing more than we deserved on Saturday, finally got a little bit of good luck.

It's funny because now you say if we beat Palace when we should of scored the penalty to win it or if we'd beat Sunderland at home which i think we deserved to do the league table would look very very different.

We haven't been outclassed in every game like the media would want you to believe!

Tikay - that post is brilliant. I'm so rubbish at Bounty Hunters. Every time I cash I've never taken a head! The Boy despairs at me!

Chris - agreed. Our position in the table is a little false imo. Still, onwards and upwards UTC.
