£1/1 game, super deep, 6 handed. I stacked villain the first hand he played with
on
and he claimed TT. He's since reloaded and been winning, but he and I haven't tangled again. Think effective stacks are about £600.
£2 straddle is on.
Villain £12 UTG
Hero calls £12 UTG+1 with
Folded to straddle who calls.
Flop (£38)
Straddle checks
Villain £15
Hero calls
Straddle calls
Turn (£83)
Straddle checks
Villain £25
Hero calls
Straddle folds
River (£133)
Villain £100
Hero calls.
Thoughts on passive line? Our relative position means we can't really do much on the turn when the straddle has the most Tx in his range, but when he folds I think it's a clear call on the river but perhaps I missed a value spot? I'm pretty sure villain will barrel this river with missed flush draws and 88-KK for value.
As another point of discussion what do you do if straddle calls on the turn and villain bets £100? I know this is a super hypothetical question but whatever you guys are smart and I'm curious

Pretty much answered your own question.
Cant see the villain from the previous hand showing up with any 10x hands from my perception of him.

88/99 seems like optimistic hands to have in villains value range here imo. Especially with his river sizing

It's just 3 ways. 4 ways I
probably
fold as AA doesn't quite fall into defending range.

How much wider u go? Just realised we not told anything about villains style etc....
Also was a bit tight missing a couple of hands, but using an ORC:
http://www.pokerstrategy.com
Board: Td4dTh7s3c
Equity Win Tie
UTG 3.13% 2.08% 1.04%
{ 99+, AJs+, KQs, AQo+ }
UTG+1 96.88% 95.83% 1.04% { AhAc }
Not sure where these ranges have come from? If you are assuming that is villains opening UTG range (don't know who villain in the hand is) but assuming competant, he'll be open ridic wider than this playing deep. Also a bunch of the range you've allocated seems unlikely to have got to the river just barrelling around.

Maybe something like this (ish... obv villain dependant):
Board:
Dead:
equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 61.957% 60.87% 01.09% 28 0.50 { AcAh }
Hand 1: 38.043% 36.96% 01.09% 17 0.50 { 99+, 77, 44, AKs, AdQd, ATs, Ac7c, KdQd, KTs, QTs, JTs, T9s, Th8h, Ts8s }
Dont like raising river much unless you have a really good reason to do so. Obv I 3-bet pre the vast majority of the time also.
Also perhaps you can take a bunch of really nutted hands out of his range from the turn bet-sizing? or not? Seems pretty small if villain has like 44/77/AT

^This is what confused me.
Your range gives him no trips and no full houses which is surely his most likely hand here. Not suggesting that he isn't value betting a couple of hands that are worse, or firing 3 with hands like AQdd, but to suggest we only lose to quads and he always bombs AKo like this is kind of silly.
Also am confused as to why OP hasn't 3b pre!
