New situation. What would you do?

Hi all,
Loooong time lurker of this excellent forum!
Been playing live tourneys for 4 years but never came across this situation until Saturday.
£35 freeze out donkathon in Brum. Last 2 tables and massive chip lead loses a big pot but is still chip lead. He then states that he doesn't want to play anymore and proceeds to go all in blind on every hand.
I'm on the SB with A,10 off, playing 13 bigs. I call.
He turns over 5, 3 off and rivers (of course) a 5.
Table laughs and I leave quietly fuming.
Was it a loose call as I prob would have folded to a genuine raise?

Cheers Young_gun great to part of the community.
Villain was already all in blind (had me covered) when it folded round to me.
Do you still think I should have called with A,10 off?
Trying to make myself feel better lol!

The call's fine as you know he's shoving any-two-cards and you're well ahead of his range and it's a great chance of a double-up. Of course, 35% of the time he's going to win the hand, and you're going to be watching from the rail.

Welcome to blonde Mr high.
I'm calling there all day & night, & I am King Nit.
It is a wonderful spot, as good as it gets.
Just because we lost does not mean it was wrong.
In these situations, try & visualise the exact same scenario re-enacted, say, 10,000 times. You would win 6,500 times, & Matey Boy would win 3,500 times. (approx).
So, you'd soon be a millionaire.
Forget the short term, think long term.
Hope you enjoy blonde.

Broadway or
Gala
G?
(I might have won one of those on Saturday...)
Edit: also, call is fine and dandy. Just do a win next time.

Actually, as you described it as a "donkathon", it must have been the G, as the Broadway comp was full of online wizards, esteemed pros and senior Mensa figures.

It was Broadway.
As you correctly state Tal Broadway is only frequented by bracelet winners...or so they think!

I've no doubt.
I was on the other of the two tables, of course. Was good fun on Saturday. The small field enabled them to run it with half hour levels and no antes. Perfect for us grinders

Have the Mods deleted a post from this thread already? You said 2 legends replied but I can only see 1 from Tikay.
Welcome to Blonde.
BTW, I have been in a similar position but someone called before me. I was gutted as I was insta calling otherwise.
