i hear mumblings of a five way deal

this is being promoted by Paul Parker, who I suspect could sell sand to Middle Eastern states at a premium

Sergio Capel, the joint chip leader now, has the air of a rather bemused beaver who returns home to find someone has broken his dam

Especially for gatso

jp Kelly, past his bedtime

school tomorrow

No timing that JP. He's put his arm across his chips just as the pic was taken. Shame as the stack was massive at that point

Anyone else think Rob Nysted looks like Scottish Dave?

there are quite amazing scenes here, resembling a bazaar in Marrakesh

much passionate negotiating and raised voices, with friends of the players getting involved

the deal may now be off

I think, though I may be wrong, that paul is pushing for more than the equity assumed by his chip count

this really is very heated

I just don't understand deals at all, I think they go against the whole nature of poker, and definately against its image.

When you get to this stage of the tournament, you want to see who does well in the pressure situation, that is what poker is about. Everyone is getting a good prize anyway, I think they should play for the prizes as they are.

No sport has this anticliamtic feeling that we get so often when you reach the last few in a knockout competition.

Congratulations to the designers of the ranking system who have decided that any deal with say five people to go means that everyone gets the points for fifth place only.

Play for the points boys, not the money!

ok, Carmel has insisted that details of the deal will remain private, and of course we will respect that

one of the more intriguing episodes of deal making I have witnessed though

and, easypickings, how can you say to a local guy like erik Hansen, who is playing in his first ever ranking event, to play for the points? the points mean nothing to him...the money presumably means far more...the guy is a teacher in Stevanage, this is a lot of money to him

and here, you have  a strange situation, where the shortest stack has brokered a deal which gives him above chip equity because he can talk the hind legs off a donkey. Good luck to him
