All,

My Laptop has died today and I urgently need to buy another to be delivered by the weekend.

My uses will be:
Grinding and surfing.
Using
HM2
TN
Various Poker Sites
surfing
bit of Microsoft office

Would prefer Windows 7 but open to people convincing me.

I have a budget of £350

I want the best bang for my buck.

Please note I would like to purchase this tomorrow worst case.

Please help.

Something refurbed might get you a little bit more.  Not too sure.  Just seen this:

Defo worth seeing what others say though.

oh god no

windows 8

dont do it to yourself.

really I mean.

I tried to use a windoze 8 machine last week, 2 seconds in I was hating life and just hating the moron mircosoft person who is trying to force everyone onto tablets. utterly horrible interface, is so not optimised for use with a mouse it's a joke. the idea of getting win8 then making it look like 7 or w/e is just dumb imo. just get win7. i'd rather run win95/dos/risc/acorn OS than win8.

If you are only using it for what you have mentioned then £350 is a healthy budget

Have bought some decent lenovo laptops recently from Pc World.

Got a core i5, 1TB, 8GB touchscreen a couple of weeks back for about £500. Bargain!

Also windows 8 is fine. Just get used to it, it's happening no matter what so just accept it.
