Is it Alf Ramsey?

Don't know.

Is that your 21st birthday party after which you have never touched a drop of alcohol due to waking up with person or persons unknown in the luggage rack?

Not Alf Ramsey, no, but same sort of era, though his career span was greater.

His fame did not come from playing. Bit of a thorn in the side of the football establishment, but eventually had a recognized Football Trophy named in his honour.

Butcher by trade, I believe.

Not my 21st, no, at the time the photo was taken, I was 26.

Excellent blast from the past, what an obdurate sod he was. But no.

Mr Hardaker operated at national level, my chap at Club level.

Being as you mention Alan Hardaker, here's one for you, with your Football Ground obsession.

Where is this? The ground remains in use as a Football League Ground today.

The photo includes Alan Hardaker, & what appears to be a (much) younger Karabiner in the middle.

Is it Aldershot's Recreation Ground?   That used to have lots of grass behind the goal I think.

I don't want a "Sir Perceval" affair, but no to all of those.

The Gent was a Club Chairman, with a very successful "method". To be fair, he passed away a very long time ago.

The ground is in a City which currently has TWO League Grounds.

Not Sam, probably about the same era though, maybe my man was a bit earlier.

Not Sheffield, no. Quite a way from there.

Surprised the Gent has not been identified. Good Lord.
