After accidentally causing carnage while every mixed game player vies to be my buddy and come hang out with me at the tables I seem to have awoken a little question.

Can we have more poker on blonde please?Huh?
Not more tournaments or more updates or more diaries about poker/ trains or the fine art that is the english language and where apostrophe's go.

But can we look into making some more boards or a division of some....

I'm thinking along the lines of
- Omaha, hi-low, 4/5/6, martian split etc...
- HORSE (I'm aware holdem and omaha are in HOrse)
- Draw games/Stud games etc
- palooki, padugi, budagi, or however else they're said and spelled
- 3 card brag
- and so on and so on....

Clearly I know very little about many of these but would love to learn and I'm aware there are a lot of players here with a wide range of talents in each.

Whatdya say???

Hi John

My own personal view is that you don't need seperate boards for these subjects

By all means start threads, perhaps use the Learning centre child board of PHA?

There's always a balance to strike. Too many boards=complication, and I personally doubt some of the sections you espouse would be busy enough, medium term, to justify their own board

At the end of the day, as we eventually did with the diaries, we're driven by what people want to post and subsequently if this makes the boards look cluttered, in deciding whether we need to split off into seperate boards

No one actually plays these games. If i post hi/lo hands I pretty much end up talking to myself because even those that do play don't play the same games. Its the same with everything too I guess. No one is going to write up huge strategy articles (maybe a certain badger Tongue) to give out free info, just too valuable.

Love TCB!! OFC can FRO.

If there's a better card game than Bastard Brag, I've not played it. Amazing game for groups.

I say this without hint of irony - the OFC boys should get going with Bastard Brag in their groups. If any game can be described as sick, it is one where you can get dealt 333 and have to swap.

From wiki:

Bastard Brag: Three cards are dealt to each player, and three face-up communal cards are dealt (in some versions only two are face up, one is face down). Players take turns at exchanging one or all (but not two) of their cards for any or all of the communal cards. Play continues until one player 'sticks', or 'knocks', meaning that they are happy with their hand. All the remaining players then exchange one last time before hands are compared. The player with the lowest hand is out, or loses a life.

The name may originate from several of the rules making the player feel like cursing. Knocking on the first round is prohibited, forcing anyone dealt a good hand to break it up, knocking isn't allowed directly after an exchange, rather instead of an exchange, i.e. you have to make a good hand, and then wait for your next turn to stick. Players can't exchange two cards at once, perhaps preventing the immediate accumulation of a good hand, with the card needed to complete the hand maybe taken by another player before the next opportunity.

Whenever I've played it, it has been two community cards face up and one face down. Agree the number of orbits before you can knock at the start of the night (just one or two if you are playing with 10 people, say, else it takes ages) and three lives each. Have a unit of money for a life.
