Hi all,

Can any one help.

A while ago I lost the ICON that used to "fire up" UR.  No biggie so I re download it.  The problem is it no longer writes a desk top Icon for my future use.  It means I have to download it again every time I want to use it,  so something is wrong.

When reading the FAQ it says check you have the latest JAVA, I have.  It then says find the JAVA app file, locate the UR icon cut and paste, job done.  When I find the JAVA app file I click on it and it flashes instantly and shuts down. This is on my laptop.    On my desk top it just won't even download, the file goes to the download file but just sits there.  Any body had the same problem ? Any ideas how I can solve it?

Cheers

Yeh I did have this problem but I have an icon now.  Its not installed though it just launches from that .jnlp file every time.  I have no installation process, all you need to do is create a shortcut from that file and it should work fine.....

Cliffs: find that downloaded file, right click on it, create shortcut, drag new icon to desktop.

Cheers mate, just tried that and when I then clicked on to it, it just took me to the download list... click on that and nothing, just shows another version of that file in the list.  So as it was.

I searched for a file call .jnlp  and the website icon for universal was the only one there so did what you said,  is that the correct file name ?

I had the same problem and I think you need an older version of Java. Version 7 Update 17 worked for me, which you can find pretty easily through google.
