Sitting in SB playing 950 straddle is on and the guy on my left has just sat down with about 1100 (40 years old perceived as tight but not particularly good by me). CO opens to 12 on the 4 straddle, I three bet to 33 from the sb with   , villain next to act peels after a moments thought then the OR folds and we go heads up. Flop    Pot 82 I cbet the flop to 42 (I'm aware this is too small and immediately regretted it as the chips hit the felt) Villain raises to 126.... WWYD? |

I'd call. I'd also 3bet much bigger. Closer to 50 than 33.

Agree with 3 bet bigger. I 3bet the flop to 249, the guy tanked for a year then peeled. Turn  Pot 582 We have roughly 660 back. Whats our line now? |

You have to go with it, I think just b/c is the way. Defo bet flop bigger, defo 3b bigger PF and defo 3b the flop to bigger imo

Always prefer to 3 bet at around pot in these pre flop spots so i'm probably making it 45. Unlikely the Villain peels here with lesser premium holdings and if he was previously getting tricky he may even be more inclined to 4 bet if he's the type of player to think you don't like to play AK/JJ with our bigger raise sizing. As played i'm still going with it. If he's got the straight or the flush it's a cooler but we dominate a lot of his 3 bet peeling range. He'll wake up with 10/10 J/J 10Js A10s AJs AdKx a bunch here. Pretty blerghhh stack sizings now and after you've already raised to 249 pre we're in a pretty shitty spot to get two more bullets out of our stack size. I'd probably Jam and get a hero from worse sets / two pairs and scream for a pairup if we're behind. Even if we c bet 290 with 370 behind or something it's always going in (+ we have a shit decision on another Xd card) and if he has  Jx / 10x / Kx he'll have to call off after picking up additional equity. |

As in ppl don't bluff raise these boards and if they do they snap shutdown vs his value combos so many action killing turns.

Seems terrible? im thinking about my range, maybe i shouldnt. I want to be able to call w A9 and protect my calls, playing AA as a 3bet shuts out a load of his "percieved" value hands (JT/AJ/AT) and could possibly stop Axdd or other semibluff combos from continuing. Saying something is terrible is pretty out there. |
