Flight B and C had way less people than Flight A, both flight B and C finished with 2 tables.  We were told that if it went down to 9 players that the day would end early and everyone makes day 2.

Can you comment on the reasons for this?  I think it should never happen unless 1 player is left with all the chips before the end of the day and has nobody to play against.  If the play ended early meaning players missed levels then lots of players stacks would be really short in proportion to the day 2 stacks.  It really destroys someone ending the day with a short stack.
