Ok guys so I recently brought a new laptop - ASUS V550CA - but am having a massive internet connectivity problems with it.

The problem itself is my internet connection just drops at random intervals. Obviously I've tried to fix it myself but I'm a total moron when it comes to anything to do with technology.

It can't possibly be the internet connection itself as I use my laptop at 3 different locations frequently and have the same problem at each. Also things like the iPad, my phone...etc will still be connected to the internet when my laptop connection drops. All that it takes to get the connection back on my laptop is a reboot and hey presto I have internet back (although this takes longer than it should seeing as my HEM takes ages to load).

Anyone got any ideas? (I use wifi connection, not wired).

Dodgy drivers for the wifi receiver?

Reinstall them (and search online if there's newer ones, which there really shouldn't be if it's a new laptop)

Is there an Asus 'app' that's managing your wifi and connections? Might be worth disabling/uninstalling that and just using the standard Windows tools to manage it.

It could well be a dodgy wireless card, I would take it back.

if its windows 8 there have been lots of issues with wifi connectivity... get driver updates and speak to Asus support etc...... As an IT professional I won't comment on Asus products
