Was looking back at the start of this blog.
Can't believe this was started almost 1 year ago, and what a year it's been!
It's pretty funny, I was reading Frankie's "who are you" posts lol
At the UKPC I was playing at a table, close to Frankie's table, it was early doors, and all you heard was someone talking quite animatedly, it was Frankie.
Roughly it was something along the lines of a lady had only called Frankie's bet with a FH, where she could have had his full stack. The chat continued for quite sometime afterwards, quite a character.

When I started the thread a year ago I was playing 10nl and was looking to move up to 20nl.
Also about this time me and a friend were organising a charity event on Sky - playing 24 hours non stop to raise money for Cancer Research on 4nl. It was about Nov/ December when we did this. It was a great success, with all the Sky reg's getting behind it - in the end we raised over £1000 for the charity.
It was really tough just staying awake/ focussed/ trying to maintain some level of concentration. It was really nice at the finish up the rail was going crazy as we completed the last 30 minutes of the challenge.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I started playing 20nl at the end of last year, and it has been a brilliant year. I've never had a losing month since I started playing "properly" - about April of last year. Sharkscope is in profit by about £2700.
My main game tho is defo cash imo. I've put sometime into cash over the last month or so, I also had someone looking at my game, which has helped immensely.
At some point between now and Christmas I hope to spend a bit more time looking at my MTT game/ areas where I can improve upon.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was brilliant going to the UKPC had a really good time.
Played a bit silly in the fourth level when I was the chip leader at the table. I had been told before not to do anything silly early doors!
Sometimes I can play a bit crazy, and this was one of them...
I 5 bet
, from the BB versus the button.
The flop was King high with 2 hearts and I checked, pretty terrible I know! Turn was another heart. I bet 1/3rdish pot. Opponent calls. River was a 4th heart and also a King. I set the guy all in with 8 high lol he tanked for a while before calling with AK no heart.
He was like "I was ready to go up Goliath at Sheffield" haha
Turns out he was not a player that liked folding and made a brilliant call - but then again my line was just so FOS.
That left me with 20k couple of rounds later, I got it in with AKsuited, versus the same opponents 77, flop game his 3 to a flush, turn gave him a flush and I was drawing dead. GG UKPC.
I also played my largest ever losing cash hand at the cash tables at 1/1.
I had
Kx, think I was the SB, TommyD in early position opens up to 6 (might have been a straddle) I made it £23/4, BB made it £60odds.
I tanked for a while, I almost folded. I've never folded Kings pre in a cash game in my life, but I was so close to it!
I know people will be like say what, fold kings pre lol But this is one of the rare examples I think it could be a good fold. Is his range so nutted that he can only have AA here? The player was tight/ passive in the extreme. He seldom played a pot.
I don't think he 4 bets QQ or AK in this spot.
Alarm bells were ringing. I couldn't do it, I called the 4 bet. The flop came down 3 clubs (no ace). We both had approx. £250 at the start of the hand.
I checked, he over bet jammed the flop like 2 x pot maybe more. I knew if he jammed I was calling, so I snap called.
When he did that I was pretty sure he had Aces with no club, I don't for 2 seconds imagine he does that with AcecAcex.
He refused to run it twice, and the board bricked.
-------------------------------------------------------
Sam Trickett directly after he bubbled the UKPC played a £10 Sit and Go with some of the Sky Reg's.
Sam is a total legend and a gentleman - couldn't have met a nicer guy.
Was great fun, and I finished 3rd:)
Also had my first Nando's experience. Ended up going over with a sky player who has been very successful at the game. Sitting next to us was two well known EPT players. Was crazy some of the money they talked about for a week of poker!
Crushed a couple of regs at tenpin bowling and went to see The Inbetweeners 2 down there also.
WAs a quality film, funniest scene has to be Simon on the flume, haha
Over all was a great experience, and was brilliant meeting a lot of the people I talk to online but hadn't actually met before.
----------------------------------------------------------
Was meant to be a "where I am now in poker" post lol has ended up a bit long so i'll leave that for another time.
