Blondepoker Greatest England XI (Goalkeeper)

I propose we 'pick' our greatest England squad by way of voting.  Each week or so I'll put up a list of players for each position and the top 2 for each position (3 goalies) go into the squad.

Obviously this will present some minor challenges, namely positions of yesteryear:positions of today; number of caps. I propose that I'll pull all players with >30 caps from the net for the voting list.  If there is a standout player (widely acknowledged), with less than 30 caps then I'll sneak them into the list too.

I'll go for 4-4-2 as a formation, as it's easier to shoehorn players into these positions - unless anyone has any other suggestions?

Banks was over rated, one save that was over rated too. Next we will be having bobby Moore was great, cause he made a tackle against pele and 'won' the World Cup. Ridic.

On the ITV commentary team tonight some complete and utterly clueless cock (yeah, you guessed it in one   ....      Plastic Paddy Townsend) eulogized over the "brilliant, brilliant, save" Hart made to a not overly hard hit German cross-shot - which would have hardly got a "well held" comment from Brian Moore, 30 years ago.

'Modern football commentaries'     ....     a lot of desperate hyperbole trying to sell a mundane product to a gullible audience!

All bar Banks and possibly Springett have a major moment of embarrassment in an important international game. Some have more than one.

The only time Banks let England down it was due to Mexican food rather than a mistimed dive, a shot through his legs or arms or being lobbed from distance and he wasn't on the pitch...

Could well have happened, and we didn't see. TV coverage 20 years ago was 100 times better than 40 years ago, so may have been missed.
