Didn't realize us English could vote if we lived up there. I think we should start a campaign to get as many English living up there asap and vote them out    Kiss  Grin

You should probably be able to spell independence before being allowed to vote on it though.

It probably is time for Scotland to cut the apron strings and let England go it alone. It's a bit unfair Scotland constantly subsidising England with things  like oil monies!

A 'them and us' post from Woodsey. Now there's a novelty.  Grin

Obv got quite a few army mates from Scotland and, aside from the usual banter, for the most part they seem outright embarrassed by Salmond and his cronies.

There isn't a majority, but they have a big number of followers that will vote for them for sure.

The real shame of this referendum is that it's becoming an "them and us" argument rather than what is best for Scotland.

Everyone has their own political opinions. Scotland on the whole is more left wing and I wouldn't be speaking out of turn to generalise and say scotland has no real love for the Tories.

Regardless of what's voted for in Scotland it gets saddled with whatever Westminster government  is voted for throughout the rest of the UK.

Independence gives Scotland the chance to control a small number of elected MSP's, vote in and vote out who scotland believes should control the reigns.

My opinion for what it's worth is Westminster does not work unless you reside in the south east of England, if I had my way I'd break up the central power structure and have regional governments with the heads of each region  working together for the nation,

At present we have a bloated House of Commons, a bloated House of Lords  and far too many special interest groups lobbying mp's.

Another important change I'd make to the status quo is all politicians must be on the minimum wage, a house would be provided at the heart of their constituency however it would remain the property of the state for the next elected person.
