if somebody 4bet half their stack rather than shove i will take out the bottom of the range that i was trying to induce a pile with and call a tad tighter, would remove aj, 88 and maybe a tad wider.
That's what they want you to do though.
Obviously you never intend to 3bet fold when you've made it 5.8x 3bet off 28bigs effective so unless you have an already made note that he does this only with really strong hands then get it in like planned.
I have a note on a dutch reg on stars that plays loads that reads:
tarped 12bb utg 6max AA (Meaning he normally open jams)
5bet clicked AA instead of jamming
I started taking notes if people try to feign strength to make it look like they induce or if they just always have it when they do induce. The latter is a lot less frequent with regs these days which is why Trigg mentioned that people like to try and look strong often.
